“You’re safer with us. I’m sorry, but I absolutely must put my foot down and insist you come with us.”
“We can’t leave hiding, not now,” David declared.
Rocky rubbed his hand over his face, pausing on the stubble of his beard. He rubbed his jaw a couple of times as he tried to figure out the best way to convince Autumn’s parents to come with them. The last person he had left, presumably in the safety of their hideout, Stonelli had shown up and killed them. Rocky wasn’t prepared to risk Autumn’s parent’s lives.
“Mom, please,” Autumn joined in.
“What if someone sees us?”
“No one will. There’s no place more secure or secluded than Cecil’s house. You’ll have everything you need, so you won’t have to venture out anywhere. You’ll be safe.”
