Chapter 25
Autumn
Her second day at work flew by. She had woken up even more sore than she had finished the previous days shift, so Autumn’s movements were a bit slower and more gaited. She was also exhausted from being up worrying about the bomb Rocky had dropped on her. By the time she had gone upstairs to talk to Brody about it, he had fallen asleep. Autumn felt horrible that he had gone to sleep without her reassurance, but Rocky had told her that somehow Brody had figured it out long before anyone else. To top everything else off, she hadn’t been able to check her phone to see how Brody’s day at the school had gone.
“Well day two is in the books and you haven’t run for the hills,” Jane laughed.
