Logan smiled, "New dress. It looks nice".
She smiled, "Thanks".
Oaka landed on a small stoned dock but didn't tie the boat. Logan planted a foot on shore and held Vanessa's hand to guide her safely on shore.
She was a little shocked, "Thanks. I never seen you do anything like that".
"Like what?" asked Logan.
"Like guiding a woman onshore or open a door for a lady... Is courting. Like a gentleman. I like it".
"Oh yeah, I was taught that some time ago that if I ever get a lady friend and she is wearing a dress or a skirt to help her up and down things. I sometimes forget that you're still wearing pants in reality".
The sounds of Vanessa's heels driving into the stone pavement were heard by everyone nearby. It only took one glare for them to lock their eyes onto her.
"Hey Vanessa, it's one of your hamsters".
She was sure they were all killed by the assassins and Pattie. But when she turned her head over, she saw a group of people petting a hamster.
A boy rolled up in a wheelchair, "Hey Vanessa".
She politely responded, noticing how the players here were physically handicapped. A couple of others came, thanking her for enlarging the hamsters. It was clear just why this server was so special.
Smiles across the faces from old to young made her feel special. This was already her favorite month in the game. But knowing that she made this big of an impact on others made it monumental.
Logan held her hand to walk her away. Yet it seemed like everywhere they went the people knew her.
Logan explained, "It's a special server for the physically handicapped. The elderly also comes to play every once in a while. We can visit them. But not vice versa. I thought it was something you'd appreciate".
She couldn't stop smiling, "Is cute".
Before she knew it, she was walking on the beach. Logan took her just where the waves brushed against their feet.
Vanessa stared into the faux moon, "Is nice. I like it".
He let her hand go, "And you know, whenever you have free time, you can come here".
"Aaaand Logan can come with me".
He answered, "Uuuh, no. Logan will be doing other things, having fun".
She nudged his shoulder, "Is funner with you".
"I heard you met your new teammate".
Vanessa rose a finger, "Aaah yes, I like her. She helped us save Jeff when you, our gambler, weren't there".
"I'm not a gambler... Anyway, we now have eight team members. So we will be splitting. You, Jeff, Hakim, and Faith will be together. Get ready because you will be the tank of the team. Jeff will obviously be the leader. Faith the utility. And Hakim the DPS, good luck".
Vanessa's face stumbled around.
"What's wrong?" asked Logan.
"I was thinking, maaaybe I should learn a defense class to get hurt less".
Logan threw his hands up and spoke with emphasis, "Yes, I told you in September that you would be a good cleric. You and Jaivva. It's good to be well rounded".
"Mmmm, not a cleric," she said before jumping, "I hate anatomy".
"There are multiple cleric classes that heal and prevent damage. I swear you would be perfect for that. If you want to try to be a physical tank, you would need to be a night of some sort. And those are harder for women".
Logan could tell she was still confused, "Most girls can't tank. You have the potential to do it. But you're better off finding a clerical means of doing it. Look at Nana. She can tank. But she does it through magical shapeshifting".
Vanessa thought for a moment, "Is true".
He scratched his head, "Speaking of the sisters, I hope you're ready to be working with them for a bit".
She c****d her head as he explained, "So the Isekai Spring Event is coming. Huge event. You must be 18 years old to participate. You and Jaivva will be with the Paragon Sisters. Andres is going with El Chales. Only for the event though".
"What is this event"?
"It's a special event where they have a few pro players fight against amateurs. These are typically held outside of a studio. So expect to be outside in the real world. But they are crazy challenges. It'll take place on March 13th. Aaaand, you will need your motorcycle license for it. So be sure to take that course here at the stadium in February with Jaivva".
She could tell by the look on his face that he was sour, "And you are too young".
He nodded, "But don't worry. Papa Logan has worked super hard at getting you and Jaivva the right gifts for this event and the game in general".
First, he pulled a cavalry rapier from his back, "I will start by giving you this. You see this little knob? Squeeze it and it can store up some magical energy.
Also, it can help you charge faster. Perfect for a spellblade. It's called the Juana Cruz. Not all themes let's you take a katana. So you'll need it".
She smiled, holding the sword in her hand, "Is nice like the one I used when we were cowboys".
He ignored her to pull off a long black katana, "This one you'll love. It's the Masamune. What's cool is that not only does it mold well with magic, but it also changes color. Pretty cute for the magical girl".
Her jaw hung low as she grabbed the sword, "I love it. Is my favorite".
Lastly, he flipped out a short barrel shotgun, "And this has actually a pretty fast reload. Especially in magical themes. Also, even though it's a shotgun, it can be used in themes with muskets. Her name is Sena".
She smiled, "You've been busy".
"That I have. I need everybody well equipped for this event and upcoming themes".
"Is good".
Logan smirked, "You know, from the first time I saw you, I knew you were great".
Every wave was heard under the night sky. But not a sound broke their silence for a solid minute.
Vanessa looked him in the eye, "That is bullshit".
Logan's smirk dimmed away. A familiar scorn was left on his face.
The ends of her mouth trickled, "If you thought I was great, you would've recruited me in July. But you didn't. In fact, you didn't even remember me in August".
Logan was shooken by how stern and upfront Vanessa was being with him about his recognition. It left him standing speechless.
She lightly smiled, "Buut, is oki. I'm glad to be on your team. I just want you to be a bit nicer sometimes".
Logan's mouth crackled up to a smile, "Okay".
Hers was genuine, but she can tell deep down that the smile he gave was just for show.
