Iku had left for home whereas Vanessa was sprinting by the waterside with the sun beaming down on her shoulders. She ignored the stone wall the formed at the sides of the water. Reflections were not even worth a second of her time. It was important for her to see what was so urgent about what Logan needed her for.
Past the benches were couples would view the water. Down a few stairs that felt meaningless to be there. Vanessa sprinted until her shoulder was grabbed.
She kicked out her leg and punched the invisible assaulter square in their nose. Before the individual could fall, she had her katana out, charging up lightning magic.
After hearing the thud, a voice spoke, "It's me, Logan".
He released his invisibility spell and sat up, "You're always soooo tenacious".
she blushed, seething her sword, "Aaah, Logan. I'm sorry".
He stood up, "Don't be. I like it that you are always alert despite your normal goofy demeanor. You never know what kind of people are around here".
"I never seen any real bad people around here".
"There's a few... So... Are you ready"?
Vanessa squinted her eyes from suspicion, "Ready for what"?
"My surprise".
She clapped the tip of her fingers in front of her mouth. He was kinda weird. He had two swords on his back and a cool shotgun on the hip. Yet he had a smile instead of his usual grin.
In fact, he held Vanessa's lower back when guiding her to the lower level to catch the ferry. Once Oaka arrived with his little ferry, Vanessa stood waiting for Logan to guide her on.
Instead, he stepped on before her, "Come. I want to show you something".
Her steps were nearly as belligerent as her pout. With her butt c****d out, she twisted her body into a seat. Logan smiled and nodded to Oaka who quickly began rowing the boat.
Vanessa smiled up at him, "So where are you taking me"?
Logan looked at her, "Somewhere special. You'll like it".
She c****d her head, "How do you know? Do you know what I like"?
It was clear by the way his brows squeezed together that he was confused, "I mean, I know you like the game and anime and making friends".
Her normal smile turned to a poker face as she crossed her legs, "Oki".
There was a moment of silence staring into each other before Logan spoke up, "You know, you have that double personality thing I hear girls have where one minute you're one way and next minute you're another. It like, you're this innocent girl who won't harm a fly. Next minute I had your blade nearly cutting my head off in December".
She grinned a bit, "You are repeating yourself".
He shrugged his shoulders, "So how was your month"?
"Ah!" sighed Vanessa with her eyes and mouth wide open.
She dropped it all back to a smile, "Is was good. We played with the hamsters, danced, oh, aaand we kill monsters. And Hakim is a virgin and likes Dezzy. I ate pizza, buuut without pineapples".
Vanessa dropped to a serious tone, slamming her fingers into her palm, "I am Italian and pineapples do NOT belong on pizza".
Logan mocked her accents, "Buuut is juicy".
With a shotgun at his head, she squinted her eyes, "I'm serious".
Logan smirked, "Wanna know something cool? If you stare at the metal on your weapon close enough and feel it, while simultaneously remembering real metal, you can begin to see a feel that the weapon in your hand is plastic".
She drew her g*n back to look at it. But she couldn't stop staring back at him. The two kept staring back at each other from the g*n, anticipating the other to make a move.
"You should try it sometime. Maybe then I can start showing some cool tricks I used to do that got me in trouble back in middle school".
Shaking her head, "No... Magical Girl Vanessa is a good girl".
He smiled, "I know you are".
Logan looked back at the tunnel coming to an end, "Next server, here we come".
Vanessa c****d her head, "Hmm"?
"The stadium has a special server for special players. You'll see".
The only thing Vanessa was seeing was a wall opening up to a small lake with a night sky. Rowing through, she couldn't ignore the falling stars. Each one left a trail of glittering sparkles that trickled in the air.
"Bet you didn't know about changing the time of day nor the seasons, did ya'"?
"Is beautiful".
"You wanna change your outfit"?
She blushed, "Do you want me to change my outfit"?
He shrugged his shoulders, "I don't care. It's up to you. There will be people here".
Vanessa bit her lip. She performed a reality check, continuously staring into Logan's eyes. This moment was filled with serenity. A calm that held away any combat. Cheeks were red as she picked out an outfit, hoping to impress him.
A white-collar wrapped around her neck. Her top became a purple bustier that seemingly press her boobs firmly up. Her belly button was exposed whereas her waist was covered.
A purple skirt that sparkled formed in place of her dress. There were ribbons and straps hanging about that seemed to ignore gravity.
There was a full cosmetic change. Vanessa was out of this world. Faux wind blew back her purple hair of many shades. Even the matching shadow and blush stood out from the night's grace.
Her lips were lined well to make any man want to steal her kiss. Meanwhile, her eyes were like purple stars undiscovered by man. She crossed her legs, showing off her knee-high boots.
