Vanessa rode the bike on auto-drive on the bridge. It was nearly as wide as a highway and longer than any schoolyard she'd seen. It led to a bright purple tower that held the prize they were after.  Running clear towards her was Carter from the breaking shield. Despite being well out of range, he dropped down and fired a pistol. Before she could fire missiles at him, the wheels were shot, sending her flying. The bike crashed whereas Vanessa landed into a combat role. She continued sprinting towards Carter while enchanting her shotgun. He jumped up, sprinting towards her with two machetes in hand. For a second she thought he was only seemingly moving so fast because she was enchanting her g*n. But after she aimed at him, she realized this man was really sprinting across the bridge as if it was nothing. Click n' fire set a bullet down the bridge. An ice path trailed behind with icicles sticking from the ground. Easy enough, Carter sliced the bullet and jumped out the way of being frozen. It had to of been an instant from Vanessa's perspective. Her heart stopped for it to process how quickly he did that. Nonetheless, she fired two more shots and reloaded. Likewise, Carter instantly noticed the tough spot he was in. The two shots she fired were at his sides as opposed to being aimed directly at him. He understood why Logan liked her. Taking the bait, he ran between the two paths of ice that trailed his sides. A third shot came towards him. Carter deflected the bullet once more and came to a stop in the ice. Vanessa saw the ice rupturing upwards. She believed it tore him apart. However... A machete flew through the ice, hitting her shotgun. Carter sprinted out with bits of ice falling off his unharmed. And with the shotgun broken, Vanessa was forced to run in with only her katana. She sliced a lightning disc that he easily rolled under. Now in range, she stepped in for a melee strike, "How can he do that"? Rising up, Carter sheathed his machete away. There was no weapon in his hands. No shin guards. Surely he was out of his mind to run into Vanessa with nothing. In the time it took her to slice her blade at him, Carter stepped in and boxed her jaw. Vanessa stepped away to slice again. But Carter remained close, punching her torso and stepping behind her. She spun to slice him, but Carter oriented her body to him to smack her jaw.  Before she could get away, Carter kicked her chest. Falling back, she observed how easy he was hopping in his stance. His moves were nearly untrackable. He even waited for her to get back into a proper combat stance.  "So this is the guy Logan can't beat," she thought.  Gripping her sword with everything she had, Vanessa attempted to slice him.  Carter moved into the faint strike of hers. It was as though she was moving in slow motion.  He caught the back of her blade with his right hand. There was no grin. He stared in like a murderer.  No matter how hard she pulled away, her sword wouldn't nudge from his grip. There was a pain in her lungs. A strong one that she tried to ignore.  Carter let go of her sword, letting her step away. He prowled back towards her. She couldn't shake off this fear from looking at him. Unlike most players, he really seemed to want to kill her.  He stepped in, just enough for her to slice at him. In that instant, he jumped back and roundhouse kicked her into a twirl.  As she stumbled, Carter came in punching her a few more times.  He grabbed her arm right when she began enchanting herself with lightning. His fingers dugged into her forearm, canceling her lightning powers.  Right when she rose her blade he punched her back and again in the eye.  Before her head bobbed back. She felt a punch to her liver.  Worse than any period cramp, the pain practically shut down her body. She fell back, nearly dropping her sword.  A good kick to the chin threw her entire body back up. Here, Vanessa realized even her breathing was off.  "Dani! Kiki"! From thin air, a card struck Carter's chest. He stood horrified in place.  Logan released his invisibility, "Got ya today carrier boy".  Carter fought against his crackling lips to smile, "Oh yeah, how did you like my Christmas Special".  Stumbling to faceplant to the ground, Carter viewed his two little opponents. His skin blackened with a green hue scourging through his body. Bits of flesh broke off, letting out Kiki's green flames.  Logan smirked, "You'll never be Bruce Willis no matter how many specials you win".  He looked back at his magical girl, ignoring the burning peasant before him, "Oof, he really got you. Didn't he"? Vanessa tried to raise herself up. But she had no energy to do so.  Logan slid under her shoulder and gripped her side, "Yeah. Never fight him alone nor at close range. He's a weapon master and a martial artist".  She stuttered, trying to breathe, "O-Ki. I-I-". "No talking. Focus on breathing and let's get you to the tower".  Tears ran down her cheek when she nodded. The pain she endured was similar to that of R'bi and Samael.  Logan looked back to Kiki and Mimi running on the bridge, "Crap".  Kiki shouted, "Logan, let Mimi take her". The winds picked up, hindering Mimi's run. She fought hard to reach Vanessa and Logan. He on the other hand stood looking up. Kiki laid down to not get blown away, waiting for Mike to bring in his next creature.  Dropping Vanessa, Logan began weaving hand seals.  Mimi got near, "Yo, it's just a game. You don't need to drop her like that".  She picked up her injured friend, "Are you okay"?  A dragon swooped over the bridge with Mike on its head.
