My Secret

Chapter 4

Damien POV

I decide to be nice and check out the room to make sure it would be up to my dad's standards just on the off chance he decides to check to make sure I did my job right. I slowly walk around the room admiring the room. Our guest rooms are usually either all white or a mixture of white and black with very little to no decorations. This room though, they went all out. They painted the walls a soft grey with lavender accents. The bed has super soft lavender bedding on it and the room smells warm like fresh baked cookies. The room is set up with a desk area and a small library area. There is a large plush couch in front of the fireplace with soft fluffy blankets. A large flat screen tv has been hung up above the fireplace. This room looks much nicer than mine. Dad really went all out for her. Dad did say something about her being special or some nonsense like that.

He made me get a team of warriors put together to help guard her. I wonder what is so special about her that she's getting the royal treatment. As I am thinking this my dad mind links me, "Son, we are coming through the barrier, we will be at the house in about 5 minutes. Be at the front waiting for us." "yes, sir I will be there," I reply. I decided I might as well make my way down. As I am walking down the stairs I link my beta, Marx, to meet me down there.

As I approach the front door, I see Marx is standing at the door talking with Grace. Grace is a nice girl but she isn't 18 yet. I have a feeling she might be his mate. He has the same suspicions. He is 23 and is dying to meet his mate so he is especially anxious for her to turn 18 next month. She is an omega but we don't really take titles that seriously besides the alpha and luna.

Marx sees me and says goodbye to Grace. He greets me quickly and we make our way to the stairs outside the front of the house.

Marx asks, "So, how do you feel about this whole thing? A new step-mom and you're getting a sister too? I'm not sure how I would feel if I were you."

"I am not sure yet Marx. I am glad my dad is happy now because he deserves to be happy but why did he have to choose a human and a human with a kid at that? My dad hasn't really told me much about them except that Lilly makes him very happy and something about this daughter of hers is really special and she needs our protection. I am not sure what's so special about her that she needs the New Moon pack's protection. You already know about the guards we had to brief and set up for her." I reply.

"Yeah man, it's difficult to say what is going on but know that your dad has a good reason for it otherwise he would not go to these lengths. Just try to be open-minded and not so angry, who knows maybe you'll like them!" he chuckled.

As Marx finishes his lesson of the day with me, the truck pulls up to the front of the house.

Emily POV

I woke up about an hour ago after secretly listening to Lily and Drake whispering about me. That was the end of their conversation and we have all be quiet since then. I finally had enough of the silence and ask Drake how much longer until we reach the packhouse. I am exhausted and need to stretch my legs. Besides Luna is driving me crazy. She is pacing around in my head whimpering. Drake said we have about 10 more minutes to the house. Lily smiled at me when he said only 10 more minutes. God, I am not sure if I can make it 10 more minutes. This feels like a lifetime! I know, dramatic of me but I've been sitting in this truck way too long and I can't stand my thoughts or Luna anymore.

I noticed that we have been in a foresty area for quite some time now. I know Lily said it was in a forested area, but c'mon who knew there was this much in one place! Right then Drake says, "We are coming up on the barrier, we will pass through and we will be at the packhouse in no time. I can see you are restless back there. I will tell you a little bit to expect since you're unfamiliar with the pack lifestyle. You will be staying in the packhouse on the Alpha floor which is the 3rd floor. Your room is across the hall from Damien so if you need anything you can ask him and not have to go far. As for me and Lily, we will be staying in our own home right by the packhouse. As newlyweds, we will like our privacy but don't hesitate to find us if you need us. The house does have other pack members living in the house. The main floor is a large living area, kitchen, dining room, and offices. The second floor is for the warriors and the beta and their family if they so wish. Currently, most of the warriors live on that floor along with Damien's beta, Marx who should be greeting you along with Damien. Dinner will be served shortly after we arrive and then you can retire to your room. Grace, Lisa, and Angie are the Omegas that live within the house and can help you with anything if you cannot find Marx or Damien. They have already prepared your room and unpacked your belongings so everything should be settled for you to go to bed as early as you wish. Do you have any questions for me before we arrive?"

Holy cow, I'm thinking. Why am I getting the royal treatment here? I just want to be treated like everyone else here. "No, I think you covered everything. I am just really tired and looking forward to sleeping in a bed rather than the truck," I giggle in response.

This is it, we are here. Time to go meet my new family I think as we pull up in front of the packhouse.
