Chapter 6Stupid humans. Ciar watched how Romeo put a hose into the car by the gas station, waited for a few minutes while there was a buzzing sound, and then he walked into the little house next to it. Ciar could see him talk to someone through the window and hand over more money.
Money was important, but how would he get any if he wasn’t allowed to deal with humans? Only humans had money, but Romeo hardly had any left.
A chicken moved around in the crate, and Ciar looked at it. He couldn’t see much of them, but he was curious about what Romeo was going to do with them. He’d never seen anyone keep animals. He’d have to let everyone know they weren’t prey, or only Romeo’s prey.
