Chapter 3

A loud scream sounded in the empty (once empty) house of Logan Wilson, followed by loud footfalls and sobs.           “Jade!!!!!????”. Logan, ran up the stairs and head first into a person both letting out a loud groan as they landed on the floor.          “Heather are you okay?”. Logan, asked getting to his feet first, giving Heather his hand.           “Where's my baby?”. She asked once she stood up. “Where’s Jade?”.          “Calm down she's with Dolores, they're in the theater”. Heather, let out a sigh moving back to give their bodies space.             She was tall probably almost five feet ten, and he was wondering why he didn't notice that before, her eyes looked tired and she tried to stifle a yawn.              “Why don't you get a shower and come have something to eat”. She nodded and said a small thank you before walking back to the room.           Opening the door to the beautiful, large room that he had shown to her and Jade, she went into the bathroom with her backpack placing hers and Jade, essentials on the sink. The bathroom was huge, probably the size of her guests bedroom back at home. She wasn't used to this type of luxury, she worked as a high school teacher, for a public school teaching biology, and counselor she had taken a leave since she needed time to grief but it turned out she's not allowed to grief since she's been running for hers and Jade life.             She was going to miss working but until her and her daughter were out of danger she might as well leave off James.               She has money on her,  had almost four hundred thousand dollars in cash, If she was going to be uprooted from her normal life she was going to go the extra mile to make sure her daughter has it all but that was going to have to wait till they're in the clear..           Setting the tub and making sure the water was with scented lavender oil she met in the bathroom she got in soaking the wonders it did for her muscles. Having little as to no sleep, she let the fact that she and Jade, were finally safe get her a few hours of shut eye.              Getting out of the tub ten minutes later, she rinsed off with hot water and walked out to the room to find her daughter tucked in, her curls braided and she had on clean clothes so probably Dolores had bathed her. She felt like a terrible mother.           Putting on a sports b*a, oversized tee that belonged to Marcus, and leggings she made her way downstairs, careful to lock the door gently and not wake Jade.            Heather, didn't expect to see Logan, shirtlessly sipping a beer in the bar, or that the view of the house in the night was going to be spectacular. Her thoughts might have summoned him cause he turned and instantly threw on his shirt.               “Hey, is Dolores still awake?”. The time on the grandfather clock in the ending of the living room said it was past nine.         Logan, shook his head. “But she left a meal in the oven for you, hope you like steak”.              “I wanted to apologise, I haven't slept in a while and I'm real sorry if Jade, was any bother”. She apologized with a small smile.              Logan, smiled. “I think Dolores, is really happy to have someone help her cook”. He was barefoot just like her and started moving to the kitchen. “I know you're hungry so please help yourself”.               He laid the steak with a side of mash potatoes before her and her stomach shouted for joy at the scent making a grumbling sound. She took a seat at the marble kitchen island with a sink and gas top at one side in the middle while Logan opened his fridge.                              “Wine, champagne, juice, soda, water or spirit?”. He asked turning back to her.                   Clearing her throat. “Water would be fine thank you”.              He turned her a cool refreshing glass and left her the jug, walking away probably back to the bar. After eating Heather, moved to the sink and saw some dishes in there, needing something to keep her mind busy cause she was going to be awake all night having slept all day. She started doing the dishes, humming to herself not noticing that Logan was behind her.              “Dolores, would be so pissed in the morning”. His low, husky voice startled her that she dropped the dish she was washing picking a bread knife as defense.                  Logan, raised his hand hands up looking at the panicked look in her eyes, she lowered the knife, closing her eyes.                        “I'm sorry Logan”. Tears were welling in her eyes but Logan, cautiously walked towards her and held her shoulders.                        ”You don't have anything to be sorry for and I meant what I said this morning”. She blinked the tears away looking into his bluish grey eyes. “Youre safe and so is Jade”.                    She nodded and gave him a wobbly smile. “I don't know what you owe James, or why you're doing this but thank you Logan”.             “I'll take care of this, you can go to bed”.  Heather, shook her head.             “You're letting me stay here expense free, this is the least I could do”. She turned back to the dishes.             “Well I'll help you dry and store then”. They worked in quiet pace and when they were done Heather, took a seat on the kitchen island.                The grandfather clock chimed ten and so did the LED lights on the steel kitchen appliances show. But Heather, was wide awake.           “It's going to be really hard for me to sleep tonight”. She was looking at the glass patio door that led to the infinity pool, almost every glass door had a different angle of the pool.                      “I really want you to be comfortable while here and also feel safe so help yourself around good night”. He said with a small smile.           “Your girlfriend is one lucky woman. Night Logan”.            Logan, wanted to tell her he didn't have a woman in his life, but if she thought he has one that was good for him. ***** Don't forget to vote comment and share..
