3- Pulsing Perfection

Lisa Blackwood stepped out of her BMW and onto the construction site, her eyes scanning the bustling scene before her. Her long, dark brown hair was tied back in a sleek ponytail, and her olive complexion glowed with a subtle sheen. Her athletic build moved with ease as she walked through the site, her eyes scrutinizing every detail. Lisa's suppressed Alpha genes allowed her to blend in, but her natural leadership and confidence still drew attention. "Good morning, Lisa," her personal assistant, Sarah, called out as she hurried to keep up with Lisa's long strides. Sarah, an omega, was one of the few people who knew Lisa's true nature, and she had grown to admire her boss's dedication and expertise. Although she still felt intimidated sometimes. "Morning, Sarah," Lisa replied, her eyes fixed on the construction crew. "What's the status?" Sarah consulted her clipboard. "Right on schedule, Lisa. The foundation is laid, and the framing is almost complete." Lisa nodded, her gaze scanning the site. "Good. I want to see the blueprints again, and I need an update on the electrical and plumbing installations." As they walked through the site, Lisa stopped to inspect the work, her eyes scrutinizing every detail. Her knowledge of the project impressed the crew, and her confidence inspired a sense of trust. The crew, a mix of betas, omegas, and Alphas, couldn't help but steal glances at her, drawn to her strength, both physical and mental, and her ability to take charge. One of the workers, a young beta male, couldn't help but stare as Lisa climbed onto the scaffolding, her agility and grace evident as she moved with ease. "Wow, she's amazing," he whispered to his coworker. "I mean, she's beautiful, but it's more than that. She's got this... presence." The omega female nodded with adoration in her eyes. "Yeah, I know what you mean. She's got this confidence that's just so... attractive." Lisa's mind was focused on the project, but she couldn't help but feel a sense of frustration. The current electrical company she was working with kept delaying and making mistakes that weren't costly now but could be a huge nuisance later. She knew she had to make a decision about which company to partner with soon. Elite Electric seemed stable, but Voltex Solutions had more innovative ideas that could take her project to the next level and help her cement her name in the construction world. Lisa went back to the office with Sarah, as she had some meetings she couldn't postpone. As the day went on, her thoughts strayed back to the meeting with Voltex Solutions, her mind going over her conversation with Timothy Voltex. She couldn't deny the spark of excitement she'd felt talking about his company and what partnering with them would mean, but she was determined to keep her focus on her goals, not the infuriating Alpha. When Sarah came in with a fresh cup of coffee, Lisa asked, "What do you think about Elite Electric versus Voltex Solutions?" Sarah hesitated, knowing Lisa's aversion to small talk. "Well, Lisa, Elite Electric seems more established, but Voltex has some innovative ideas..." Lisa cut her off, her tone firm. "I need someone who can deliver, Sarah. I can't afford to take risks." Sarah nodded, understanding. "Of course, Lisa. I just thought..." Lisa's gaze softened slightly. "I appreciate your input, Sarah. I know you're always thorough." After attending to her meetings, Lisa decided to return to the site again, this time to get her hands dirty. It was another way of working out and clearing her mind. She changed into a pair of worn jeans and a black tank top, which she usually kept in her car for this purpose, her hair tied back in a ponytail. The crew looked up in surprise as she walked in, dishing out instructions immediately and inspecting some steel pipes. "Hey, boss," one of the workers called out, his tone friendly. "You're really getting into it today." Lisa gave a tight smile, her eyes gleaming with excitement. "How else would I let y'all know that I mean business?" As she worked alongside the crew, hammering in nails and sawing wood, her suppressed werewolf genes evident in her agility and strength, some of the crew couldn't help but stare. Everything about Lisa drew people in, even though they knew better than to get too close. "Hey, boss, this looks great," Sarah said, climbing up beside her. "You're a natural." Lisa gave a tight smirk and nodded. This was her job, and she knew she did it well. As the sun began to set, Lisa descended from the third floor of the building, her eyes scanning the progress. "Great work, everyone. Let's keep it up tomorrow." The crew dispersed, their chatter and laughter filling the air. Lisa watched them go, her eyes gleaming with satisfaction. She turned to Sarah, her voice softening. "Thanks for your help today, Sarah. You're always a big help." Sarah smiled, her eyes shining with admiration. "Anytime, Lisa. You're an amazing boss." Lisa's gaze lingered on Sarah, feeling a sense of gratitude. She appreciated having someone like Sarah by her side, even if she didn't need friends. As they left the site, Lisa's mind drifted back to Voltex Solutions. She knew she had to make a decision soon, but for now, she pushed the thoughts aside and focused on finishing up her current project. After grabbing documents from the office, Lisa decided to treat herself to dinner at a five-star restaurant. The luxurious atmosphere enveloped her as she walked in. She ordered the Pan-Seared Duck Breast with Cherry Compote, savoring each bite at a cozy window table. The tender duck and sweet cherry sauce were a perfect combination. As she ate, Lisa scrolled through emails, her mind still on work. But a prickling sensation on the back of her neck made her feel like someone was watching her. She looked around, but the restaurant was empty, except for a few couples and a group of businessmen in the corner. She waved it off as paranoia and fatigue, though the feeling lingered. Finishing her meal, Lisa felt satisfied but uneasy. She paid the bill and left, welcoming the cool evening air after the suffocating atmosphere of the restaurant. As she drove home, she felt her exhaustion catching up with her. She lived in a classy gated building and owned the penthouse on the 14th floor. She parked her car and got into the elevator, feeling a sense of relief as the doors closed behind her. As Lisa walked into her apartment, she felt a sense of peace wash over her. She removed her clothes as she walked, leaving a trail of fabric behind her. Exhausted, she desired only a bath and bed. She filled the tub with warm water and sank in, feeling her muscles relax. As she lay there, her mind began to wander back to her past, memories she had long suppressed rising to the surface. However, she pushed them aside, focusing on the present and a pair of golden eyes that sparked a flame within her. Though she didn't dwell on it, the sensation lingered. After her bath, Lisa felt refreshed but still tired. She decided to work on the documents in the morning instead of tonight, needing a good rest. She put on a comfortable nightgown and climbed into bed, holding her mother's blanket close. With a sip of wine, she closed her eyes, feeling the softness of her bed and the security of her penthouse apartment envelop her. As she drifted off to sleep, she made a mental note to call in her cleaning lady the next day as well as run a check on the finances of the two potential companies she might work with. She needed to move fast. Even if it meant seeing that golden-eyed bastard again.
