2- Current of Chaos

Lisa woke up at 5:00 AM, her body automatically switching into routine mode. She had adhered to this strict schedule for years, and it had become second nature to her. She began by lacing up her running shoes and heading to the treadmill for a 45-minute run. The exercise helped her clear her mind and get her blood pumping for the day ahead. After her run, Lisa showered and dressed in her signature CEO style - strict, classy, and simple. She opted for a tailored black pantsuit, a crisp white blouse, and a pair of low heels. Her olive complexion glowed with a subtle sheen, and her thick, waist-length brown hair was pulled back into a sleek bun. She had minimal jewelry on - a simple wristwatch, a delicate necklace, and a pair of stud earrings. Lisa's breakfast was equally minimalist - an apple or banana, accompanied by a cup of straight black coffee with a minimal amount of sugar. She had never been one for fancy breakfasts or elaborate makeup routines. Her focus was on getting to work and tackling the day's challenges head-on. As she finished getting ready, Lisa glanced at her reflection in the mirror. At 5'7", she was an imposing figure, her Alpha genes evident in her tall stature and athletic build. But she had long suppressed her werewolf instincts, choosing instead to focus on her human side. With a final check of her watch, Lisa headed out the door and slid into her sleek black BMW. She was ready to take on the day, and nothing was going to get in her way. The drive to the office was smooth, and Lisa arrived just as the sun was rising over the city skyline. She took a deep breath, preparing herself for the busy day ahead. Meetings with three electrical companies were lined up, and she was determined to find the perfect partner for Blackwood Builders' latest project. First up was a meeting with Rachel from Elite Electric. Lisa was impressed with Rachel's professionalism and knowledge, and their discussion went smoothly. Rachel presented her company's proposal, highlighting their experience and competitive pricing. Lisa was pleased with the meeting and made a mental note to consider Elite Electric as a strong contender. Next, she met with Michael from Ampere services. Michael was charming and enthusiastic, but Lisa found herself struggling to focus on the conversation. She couldn't quite put her finger on it, but something about Michael's demeanor rubbed her the wrong way. Despite this, she listened attentively to his pitch and asked questions, trying to keep an open mind. Finally, it was time for her meeting with Timothy, the owner of Voltex Solutions. Lisa had done her research and was intrigued by Voltex's innovative approach to electrical engineering. She was expecting a productive discussion, but what she got was something entirely different. Timothy walked into the meeting room with an air of confidence that bordered on arrogance. His golden eyes seemed to bore into Lisa, making her feel like he could see right through her. His dark, intense features were chiseled, with wavy brown hair that had bits of gold strands running through it. His muscular build made him look like a wall, imposing and unyielding. "Ah, Lisa Blackwood," Timothy said, his voice low and husky. "It's a pleasure to finally meet you. I've heard great things about your company. Though, I must say, I'm a bit surprised you're considering us for the project. We're not exactly the safest choice, are we?" Lisa raised an eyebrow, taken aback by Timothy's directness. " It's Miss Blackwood," She said firmly. "..And I'm not looking for safe, Mr. Voltex. I'm looking for innovative and cost-effective solutions. And from what I've seen, Voltex has some impressive ideas." Timothy chuckled, his eyes glinting with amusement. "Ah, but that's where you're wrong, Lisa. We're not just about ideas. We're about disrupting the status quo. And I'm not sure you're ready for that." Lisa felt her hackles rise, her suppressed Alpha genes stirring within her. She knew that Timothy was an Alpha werewolf, just like her. And she could sense the challenge in his words, the dare to rise to his level. She felt a spark of irritation that he would think to challenge her abilities. Who did this man think he was, anyway? "I think I can handle it, Mr. Voltex. After all, I'm the one running a successful construction company." Timothy leaned forward, his voice taking on a teasing tone. "Oh, I'm shaking in my boots. But let me ask you, Lisa, have you ever taken a risk in your life? Or do you always play it safe?" Lisa's eyes narrowed, her patience wearing thin. "I've taken plenty of risks, Mr. Voltex. And I've come out on top every time." Timothy's smile grew wider. "I doubt that. But hey, I love a good challenge. Let's see if you can keep up with me, Lisa Blackwood." The meeting continued in this vein, with Timothy pushing Lisa's buttons and challenging her at every turn. Despite her growing frustration, Lisa found herself drawn to his energy, his passion for his work infectious. But she couldn't shake the feeling that Timothy was hiding something behind his charming facade, something that made her uneasy. As the meeting drew to a close, Lisa stood up, her eyes locked on Timothy's. "I'll be in touch soon, Mr. Voltex. But for now, I think we've covered enough ground." Timothy rose from his seat, his eyes never leaving hers. "I'm looking forward to it, Lisa. And please, call me Timothy. Mr. Voltex makes me sound like my father." Lisa smiled sweetly, her voice dripping with sarcasm. "I wouldn't dream of it, Mr Voltex. We are certainly not on that level of familiarity." Timothy's gaze lingered on Lisa for a moment before he erupted into a fit of laughter, his head thrown back in abandon. The sudden, booming sound sent a shiver coursing through Lisa's chest, a primal response she quickly suppressed. Her hands clenched into fists, she fought the urge to lunge at him, her teeth gritted in a fierce effort to restrain her dormant instincts. It had been years since she'd last felt the stirrings of her werewolf nature; why were they resurfacing now, sparked by this infuriating man? As she struggled to tame the feral instincts threatening to consume her, Timothy leaned in, his golden eyes blazing with an unholy curiosity. "So, Lisa Blackwood," he drawled, his voice low and husky, "I must ask... what manner of creature are you?" The question hung in the air like a challenge, his gaze piercing through her defenses and striking at the very heart of her secret. Lisa raised an eyebrow, her heart beating slightly faster. "What do you mean?" Timothy's smile grew wider. "Well, you're clearly not an omega. You're not... delicate enough. But I can't quite smell any werewolf scent on you either. It's intriguing, to say the least." Lisa's eyes narrowed, her irritation growing. "I'm a CEO, Mr. Voltex. That's all you need to know." Timothy chuckled, his eyes never leaving hers. "Oh, I think there's more to you than that, Lisa. Much more. And I aim to find out what that is." Lisa felt a shiver run down her spine as Timothy's gaze seemed to bore into her very soul. She knew she should stay away from him, that he was trouble with a capital T. But at the same time, she couldn't deny the excitement that came with working with Voltex Solutions. It was the most preferable option, the one that made her heart race with anticipation. As Timothy Voltex exited the meeting room with a mocking salute and a smirk, Lisa felt a mix of relief and unease. There was something about him that rubbed her the wrong way, like an itch she couldn't scratch. His presence stirred a primal response, a reminder that they were both Alphas, destined to clash. Logic warned her to steer clear of his company, but Voltex Solutions dangled a tantalizing carrot - innovative projects, groundbreaking ideas, and the thrill of bringing them to life. The question echoed in her mind: was the potential reward worth the aggravation of working with the infuriating Timothy Voltex? Her instincts screamed no, but her ambition whispered yes...
