In an instant, everyone drew their weapons. Black gun barrels pointed at heads across the room, creating a deadly standoff.
Amid this tension, only one man remained calm. He held a metal lighter, its blue flame illuminating his distinctly Asian features. Unlike the other yakuza members, his demeanor was different—controlled, almost expectant.
I recognized him immediately. Kai, my inside man.
Kenji Yamamoto stepped forward, his scarred hand twitching slightly. "Mr. Moretti, let's not be hasty. We're businessmen, after all."
"Are we?" I replied coldly. "Businessmen honor their agreements."
Kenji's lips curled into a sneer. "Like you honored your brother's life? The rumors say you orchestrated Vincent's death to take his place."
