The sound of running water quickly filled the bathroom. I lay motionless on the bed, my mind blank and expression vacant. After what felt like an eternity, I finally snapped back to reality and grabbed the blanket, wrapping it around my half-naked body.
I turned my head and noticed the bathroom door was half-open. Steam drifted slowly into the bedroom, creating an intimate atmosphere I wanted no part of.
