Darren POV
The day for me to take over the pack as their new Alpha had finally arrived, and I couldn't have been more excited. My parents had taken care of all the last minute preparations, so Bethany and I could spend the day getting ourselves prepared.
In the morning, we went to the cave and spent a few hours there. This allowed Bethany to replenish her strength and energy, and it allowed us some peaceful time to talk without constantly getting interrupted.
We were sitting at the edge of the pond with our feet submerged in the water, when I curiously asked, "Have you thought about having our pups?"
Her lips curved up to form a small smile before she timidly replied, "I have, but I'm not sure that either of us are ready, yet."
