1 - Rogues Attack Lilith

1946 Words
Matthew POV     It had been five years and three months, since I turned eighteen, and found my mate, Lilith.  She was amazing, and I was over the moon for her.  We found out a few days ago, that she was finally carrying a pup.  It took so long to get her pregnant, I was starting to think it would never happen.       I had finished my medical training, and became a pack doctor at our pack clinic.  I was very good at my job, and it made me happy to help others when they were in need.  I was blessed to have an understanding mate, when I got called to the clinic at weird hours of the night.     Lilith became my world, the second I found out she was my mate.  Every kiss and touch we shared was like being in bliss.  She had the softest skin, and tastiest juices that flowed out of her, every time I made her c*m.       Whenever we made love to each other, it was always so intense.  The way her tight little p***y clenched around my c**k, was like nothing I had ever experienced.  I loved when she would moan my name, and arch her back from the pleasure I gave her.  There were times, I couldn't believe the Moon Goddess blessed me with such a beautiful mate.     I do have to admit, there were many times when the dark haired beauty with sea foam green eyes would flash in my mind.  The time those flower petals circled around me, then fell to my feet never left my mind.  It was always a mystery, why that gust of wind brought those flower petals to me. I couldn't help but wonder if I had another mate out there, but I would never spend much time thinking about it, since I had Lilith, and she was amazing.     I was working at the pack clinic, when Lilith mind linked, 'I am going to the meadow to pick some flowers.  Don't freak out if I'm not back, when you get home from work.'     Right away, I linked back, 'Okay, sweetie, be careful, and let me know if you have any problems.'     'Will do.  I love you,' she replied, before she cut the link.     She loved picking flowers at the meadow.  Sometimes, she put them in vases around the house, and other times, she would use the flowers to make little tiaras, then she would give them to the pups around the pack house.  Lilith was sweet like that.  If she had something, and one of the pups wanted it, she would almost always give it to them.     I was getting ready to leave the pack clinic, when I felt a wave of fear course through our mate bond.  Right away, I tried to mind link her, but couldn't get through.  A second later, I felt pain erupt throughout my body.  I grabbed the back of my chair to stop myself from falling, as the pain intensified.  Suddenly, I felt a searing pain shoot through my chest, as my mate bond with Lilith snapped.  I dropped to my knees, howling in pain.       Courtney, who was a nurse at the clinic, ran to me, and frantically asked, "Matthew, what's wrong?  Where are you hurting?"     I was panting for air, as I tried to grasp what was going on.  I opened my mouth a few times, but all I could do was scream in agony.  After about ten minutes, the pain started to ease.  I stopped gasping for air, then curled up into a ball on the floor, in the middle of the pack clinic.       I sobbed, knowing that something bad happened to my Lilith, and she was no longer with us.  It was obvious when I felt our mate bond break.       Courtney stayed by my side, rubbing my back.  When I got my emotions a little under control, I growled, "My mate is dead."     Courtney gasped, before she anxiously asked, "How?"     "I don't know, but I felt our bond break, and I know that she wouldn't have left me, plus I felt her fear and pain, before our bond broke," I warily replied.     Instantly, her eyes glazed over for a second, then returned to her normal dark brown color.       A few minutes later, Alpha Lance and Luna Meredith ran into the pack clinic, with worried expressions on their faces.  The Luna dropped to her knees, then she engulfed me in her loving embrace.  She was one of the sweetest shewolves, I had ever known, and one of the best Luna's around.  She was compassionate, and she cared about every wolf that was part of her pack.       When I looked up at her, I could see the tears rolling down her cheeks.  Heartbroken, I asked, "What happened to my mate?"     "Honey, I don't know for sure, but Beta Jack just mind linked that he found Lilith's body at the edge of the meadow.  It looks like she was attacked by rogues.  Jack said he could smell the foul stench of rogues still lingering in the air," Alpha Lance calmly explained.     Instantly, I broke down in sobs again.  Luna Meredith kept her arms wrapped around me, as she soothingly remarked, "I know it doesn't seem like there is any reason to live, but you have to overcome the grief you are feeling right now.  Lilith wouldn't want you to give up on life.  She would want you to keep living, and move on."     In a strained voice, I angrily responded, "I didn't just loose my mate, I lost my pup, too."     The Luna caressed my cheek, as she sadly replied, "I know, honey.  I know."     Alpha Lance bent over us, and tapped on the Luna's shoulder.  She released me from her embrace, then the Alpha lifted me to my feet.  He gave me a quick hug, then pulled back and straightened my shirt.       The Alpha gave my shoulders a little squeeze, then he stated, "I can't imagine how this feels, but I know you can and will move past this.  You are a strong wolf, and you have a lot to contribute around here.  Let me know if there is anything I can do to help you through this.  We will have her memorial this evening, and send her spirit back to the Moon Goddess.  Be at the training grounds at eight, so you can say your goodbyes."     I was chewing on my bottom lip, trying to stop myself from once again breaking down in tears, so I just nodded my head in acknowledgement.  He gave my shoulders one last reassuring squeeze, then grabbed Luna Meredith's hand, and left the clinic.       Right away, Courtney wrapped her arms around me.  She hugged me tight for a few minutes, while I stood there, staring off in space.  I couldn't think.  My thoughts were so jumbled, and bouncing all over the place.  I felt so sad and lost.  I was brought back to reality, when Courtney asked, "Do you want to go back to your room?"     I nodded my head, not really thinking about the question.  When we got there, as soon as the door open, I was enveloped with Lilith's intoxicating scent of orchids and apples.  Instantly, I dropped to my knees, and began sobbing again.  When I couldn't handle smelling her scent any longer, I crawled away from my room, while still sobbing.     Courtney closed the door, then walked to where I was leaning against the wall, crying into the palms of my hands.  I was completely devastated, and didn't see any reason to keep living.  I mumbled into my hands, "Courtney, please just kill me now.  I can't live without my mate and pup.  It hurts too much.  I need Lilith back."     Suddenly, Courtney's hand landed on the back of my head, immediately followed by her snarling, "Don't you dare EVER ask me to kill you again.  Get your ass up right now."     Shocked by her sudden outburst, I stood up in a daze.  Right away, Courtney grabbed my hand, then she pulled me to her room in the pack house.  She was about ten doors down from my room, so it didn't take long to get there.  She stormed through the door, and walked straight to her dresser, pulling me behind her.       While keeping ahold of my hand, she opened the little drawer of her jewelry box, then pulled out a tiny storage bag.  She let go of my hand, then opened the bag, and held it up to my nose.     As soon as the sweet scent of lilacs and the ocean hit my nostrils, it was like I went back in time, to that moment when the flower petals whirled around me.  That beautiful face that had randomly popped into my mind over the past five years, was there again, except that face had matured a few years, and she was even more beautiful than before.     The second I was brought back to reality, by Courtney saying my name, I gasped, as I grabbed the bag out of her hand.  I looked at her with hope in my eyes, and warily asked, "How did you get this?"     Courtney giggled, then she cheekily admitted, "While we were walking back to the pack house, I couldn't stop thinking about how those flower petals whirled around you.  I also couldn't stop thinking about you seeing the picture of the girl in your mind.  After you headed to your room, I ran back out there, and grabbed all the petals that were still laying there, and stored them here."     "I can't believe you did that," I breathed out.     "I think there is more to this, than either of us could have imagined at that point in time," she warily admitted.     "What do you mean?" I curiously asked.     "I did some research, and learned about a hybrid who supposedly casted a spell, that bonded her to a specific wolf with the features she wanted.  I know it sounds stupid and impossible, but from what I have heard, it's something that really happened.  Supposedly, she is one of the most powerful hybrids, and she's a part of the Silver Moon Pack," Courtney explained, with a smile on her face.     I looked at my friend in disbelief, as I skeptically replied, "So, you're telling me, that this girl I have been seeing is real, and that she is a hybrid, who casted a spell to bond herself to a wolf with certain features, and I am the one that her spell bonded her to?"     "Yes, that is exactly what I am saying," Courtney stated with excitement, then she added, "From what I hear, she is very happy with her mate, and they are still living a happy life with pups of their own."     "So, you are saying that this girl is my mate, because of a spell," I asked, still in disbelief.     Courtney laughed, before she replied, "Yes, silly, now get your head out of the clouds, and get ready for Lilith's memorial.  I am going to start planning a trip to the Silver Moon Pack.  We are going to travel there, and see if we can find some answers, or your mate with those unique sea foam green eyes."     Even though, I was completely heartbroken about losing my fated mate.  At least I had something to put my focus on.  I just hoped this supposed spell wasn't a load of bullshit, or that this girl wasn't some crazy hybrid.  I had only met the two hybrids that lived in our pack.  One was a little cuckoo, and the other was a total sweetheart.  I hoped mine was as sweet as she was pretty.
