chapter 1 Emelia froze at the doorway, her heart pounding in her chest as her eyes took in the sight in front of her. There he was-Marcus, her husband. In their bed. With Tasha. Her best friend. "What... Marcus? What is this?" she gasped, her voice trembling with disbelief. "Why are you in bed with Bella?!" Tears welled up in her eyes. Tasha, wrapped lazily in their blanket, didn't even look surprised. She just stared back at Emelia, emotionless. Tasha,how dare you?" Emelia cried. "I trusted you. You were like a sister to me!" Tasha looked away briefly, then muttered, "Don't look at me like that." But before Emelia could say more, Marcus cut in, his voice sharp and cruel. "Shut up, Emelia." She looked at him, stunned. "In fact," he continued, "I'll be divorcing you soon. So don't act surprised." "What... Marcus?" Emelia's voice cracked. "What do you mean?" "I said I'm divorcing you. Anytime from now. You should know your place in this house, woman." His words hit her like a slap. Emelia stood there, shaking, completely lost for words. Was this the same man she married? The same man she sacrificed everything for? "Marcus," she whispered, "do you even remember what I did-what I gave up-so you could be where you are today?" He sneered. "Yes, I do. I know you slept with your old high school lover for money. You're a slut." Emelia's knees nearly gave way. "How could you say that to me?" she sobbed. "I did it for you, Marcus! I sold my dignity so you could have a future! I loved you!" She turned to Tasha ,barely able to stand. "And you... Tasha,how could you? We grew up together. We shared everything. And this is what you do? You betray me like this?" Tasha gave a cold laugh. "You had a good man, Emelia. But you couldn't keep him. He was love-starved. You pushed him away." Marcus slid closer to Bella, smirking. "Don't mind her, baby. That's how sluts behave." Then, right there in front of Emelia, he kissed Tasha-deeply. That was the final blow. Emelia collapsed to the floor, sobbing harder than she ever had before. Everything she had built-her marriage, her friendships, her pride-was crashing down around her. The man she once called her husband was now a stranger. The woman she once trusted like a sister was now her greatest betrayal. She had given up everything for Marcus-her dreams, her body, her soul. And now, she had nothing. But it didn't stop there. Days passed, and Emelia tried to keep herself together. Tried to pretend she still had a place in the home she helped build. But Marcus made it clear-she was nothing more than an intruder now. One day, she came back from the spa, hoping for a moment of peace. Instead, she found Marcus and Tasha curled up on the couch, laughing as if they didn't have a care in the world. As soon as they saw her, they burst into laughter again. She glanced at her reflection in the hallway mirror. Was there something on her? Were they laughing at how she looked? Marcus turned toward her and said mockingly, "Look who's here-the newest pornstar in town." He and Tasha howled with laughter like wild hyenas. "What... what are you talking about?" Emelia asked, confused and anxious. Without a word, Marcus threw a phone at her. "Take a look at yourself, ma'am," he said coldly. Emelia picked it up and pressed play. Her heart sank. Her world shattered again. There she was-on the screen-naked, vulnerable, exposed. It was that night. The night she sold her body to save Marcus. A night she never wanted to remember. She never even knew it had been recorded. And now it was being used to humiliate her. She stared at the screen, her hands trembling, the laughter of Marcus and Tasha echoing in her ears.
