"If a fish and bird fell in love where will they live "
not every beautiful story is meant to have a forever ending. some stories exist to change us , to remind us that love is measured not only by staying ,but also by understanding , respecting, letting go Maybe the question isn't "if a bird falls in love with a fish , where will they live ? ".
Maybe the really question is "can love exist without asking either soul to lose itself?"
you can love someone with all your heart , but you can't survive in an environment where you weren't meant to live
In other words I used to think that "holding on "was sign of strength.I believed that if I just gripped the edges of my world tightly enough ,I could keep the pieces from falling away.I thought that if I loved something or someone hard enough,I could rewrite the laws of gravity .But somethings are never meant to exist in the same element
There is a an old story I keep reading ; the fish and the bird .They found a beauty in each other that defined their nature's, but eventually the sky called to the wings and the current called to the scales. It wasn't failure of love it was a realization of origin. They were meant to conquer the other's world;they were only meant to catch a glimpse of it
Growing up,I learned that lesson in the cruelest way. I learned that when you are the one who is blamed for the breaking , you start to believe that you aren't meant to hold anything whole. I watched the things I love be dismantled , piece by piece, until I stopped reaching for them altogether I became a master of the cold , untouchable heir, convinced that by letting go of joy , I was protecting it .
I recently sat down with Mr Finn Gray often known in high society circles simply as "mr Gray" to talk about the concept of holding on . He is a man who seems to have
built his entire life around the idea of walls, yet his eyes suggest he spends most of his time looking for a way out."people talk about letting go like it's defeat,"Finn told me, his voice as steady and cold as the marble halls of his estate.",They think if you just grip harder, the glass won't shatter. They don't understand that you can love something that isn't meant to survive your world ".He leaned forward, and the polished mask slipped.
He touched a silver wheel a relic from a toy long destroyed tucked deep into his pocket "the fish and the bird had the right idea,"he whispered ,staring past me at something I couldn't see."They knew that Loving each other meant knowing when to stop trying to breathe in the wrong element,"I asked him if he had finally stopped trying .He looked at me ,his expression unreadable, and I realized he wasn't talking about the fish and a bird anymore .He was talking about a choice he had made one that would change u
"I haven't stopped trying, Finn said softly, standing up to leave. I've just changed what I'm reaching for . And trust me, you aren't going to believe what happens when the bird decides to stop flying."
"we are all, in some way, terrified of our own elements. we fear the depts, and we fear the heights. But as I watched Finn Gray walk away. I realized that letting go isn't about giving up on the person you were .It is about the bravery required to stop playing the role assigned to you by someone else's grief. If the bird can not swim,it doesn't mean the bird is broken.it simply means it was born for a different view of the world one that the fish, no matter how much it loves, can never truly see."
