Angela’s fury burned in the dimly lit room. The tension between her and her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Roland, was thick as they sat together at their private gathering.
Mr. Roland, looking cold and calculating as always, leaned back in his chair. His voice was calm, yet menacing.
"Raymond has become a liability. He’s too unpredictable now. We can’t afford to let him continue. He’s a threat to everything we’ve worked for."
Mrs. Roland nodded, her expression steely and resolute.
"He’s a fool. He’s been undermining us for far too long. If we don’t act now, he’ll ruin all of us."
Angela, her face flushed with anger, stood up abruptly. Her eyes blazed as she looked at both of them.
"You want to kill Raymond?" she asked, her voice thick with disbelief and fury. "You can’t do that! He’s my—"
Mr. Roland’s eyes narrowed, his patience wearing thin.
"He’s your ex-lover, Angela. He is no longer of any use to us. His actions are becoming more reckless by the day. He knows too much, and we cannot let him disrupt our plans."
Mrs. Roland crossed her arms, her tone icy.
"We can’t allow him to continue making decisions that put everything in jeopardy. I’m doing this for the family."
Angela’s heart pounded, but her determination was unshakable. She glared at her parents.
"No. If you go ahead with this, I will make sure Isabella’s baby never sees the light of day. This is your last warning."
Mrs. Roland looked at her with disdain, but Angela’s threat held power. The air in the room felt suffocating as the weight of her words sank in.
"You would kill your own niece or nephew? For Raymond?" Mrs. Roland scoffed, her voice dripping with disbelief.
Angela’s gaze hardened, and she stared her mother down.
"I don’t care if it’s my blood or not. If you harm Raymond, I will do what I must to ensure that child is never born."
Mr. Roland’s expression was unreadable, but a flicker of respect for Angela’s resolve passed through his eyes. He wasn’t used to being threatened by his own daughter, but he also knew she was deadly serious.
"Angela, I don’t want to lose you, but if it comes to Raymond’s life or your loyalties to him, you will have to choose," Mr. Roland said, his voice cold but not without a hint of regret.
Angela stepped forward, a dangerous fire in her eyes.
"I’ve already made my choice. If you kill Raymond, you’ll lose me. And you’ll never see that baby born."
As the silence in the room thickened, Mrs. Roland exchanged a look with her husband, frustration and anger written all over their faces. But they were unwilling to let go of their plan to dispose of Raymond.
Alina, who had been sitting quietly in the corner, watching the exchange unfold, finally spoke up. She leaned back in her chair, her voice smooth but carrying an underlying coldness.
"You both seem to have underestimated Angela. She’s right—if you go ahead with this, you’ll lose more than just Raymond. You’ll lose control of everything."
Angela turned to look at Alina, surprised at her boldness, but Alina’s eyes were calculating.
"I suggest you reconsider," Alina continued. "Maybe there’s another way to deal with Raymond without losing your daughter in the process."
Angela wasn’t sure if she trusted Alina, but the tension in the room had reached its peak. There were no easy answers here, and the battle lines had been drawn. Angela’s threat still hung in the air, an ultimatum neither of her parents could ignore.
As Alina watched, she knew this conflict was far from over. The Roland family was unraveling at the seams, and she couldn’t help but wonder where she would fit into this mess. She knew all too well that when power was at stake, no one could be trusted—not even the ones closest to you.
Angela paced angrily around the room, her hands clenched into fists. She could barely look at her parents.
"How could you both even think about doing this?" she shouted, her voice filled with disbelief and rage. "Raymond is my only ally, my partner! He's the only one who's ever supported me, and now you're talking about getting rid of him?"
Mrs. Roland sighed, her face hardening. "Angela, we cannot afford to let Raymond continue to destroy everything we've worked for. He exposed too much at that conference. If he stays, he’ll ruin our entire plan."
Angela's fury flared up. "I don't care! If you lay one finger on Raymond, I swear, I'll do everything in my power to make sure Isabella pays for it. She's the one who caused all of this—she's the reason he's acting the way he is, the reason our family is falling apart!"
Mrs. Roland turned to her husband. "You see, she is too attached to Raymond. We can’t have her emotions clouding our judgment."
But Angela wasn’t backing down. "I don't care what you say, I’m not letting Raymond go down. If you hurt him, I’ll make sure Isabella’s baby never sees the light of day." She glared at her parents, daring them to argue further.
Mr. Roland narrowed his eyes. "Do what you must, but remember, Angela, Raymond’s life is worth nothing if we don’t secure our future. Isabella has caused us enough trouble already. If we’re going to win, we must dispose of anyone who gets in our way."
Angela clenched her jaw. "Then you’ll have to get rid of me too, because I’m not letting you harm Raymond. And if you even think about touching him, Isabella’s baby will be my target."
Alina, who had been silently watching the argument unfold, now stood up. She leaned against the wall with a smug smile, watching the conflict between Angela and her parents. "This family is falling apart. It’s almost too easy."
