"Anna, I want a divorce," Zeke announced.

"Our first year in marriage was great while it lasted but after a while, you don't just look appealing to me anymore."

"You married me because of my money," Zeke continued. "I should've read the signs a long time ago before I asked you to marry me. I regret ever knowing you. I HATE YOU, ANNA!"

.................

Five years later after the divorce, Anastasia returned back to York city. She was more beautiful, more successful and very powerful.

Suddenly, Zeke wants her back. He would do whatever it take to win his ex-wife back.

But Anastasia didn't return back for the looks of it.

She came back for revenge.

ANASTASIA'S POV: "Darling, we need to talk," I said. Zeke flipped through the papers on his reading desk without giving me so much as a glance. "I'm busy." I bite my lips hard. "It can't wait. I want us to talk now." "I just said, I'm busy," Zeke's tone went up a note. "Are you deaf or something?" "I didn't come here to fight, darling," I remained where I stood by the doorway. "Just five minutes. Give me five minutes of your time." Zeke sighed, exasperated. "You've got five minutes. Start talking." I released a deep breath then began. "Zeke, I need the truth from you and nothing but the truth. Please be honest with me. Who's Sandra?" He paused what he was doing and slowly looked up at me. Those handsome features which I'd fallen in love with was now tightened into a frown. "What's that supposed to mean?" "Please, Zeke," I suppressed a sob. "You said five minutes. I don't want to exhaust it on pointless questions. Just be honest with me." Zeke stared at me for a long time before he replied. "Sandra's my secretary." "And?" "The hell, that's all she is," he raised his hands. "What more were you expecting to hear?" "That she was your ex-girlfriend in high school," I revealed, and he gave a start. "See, you know I'm saying the truth." Zeke wrinkled his nose. "How did you know about Sandra?" "I know you two stay behind in the office after working hours to fool around. I know you two go on vacations whenever you're traveling for conventions. I know your favourite hotels where you two spend time together. I see the text messages. The nudes she sent to you. I see everything." Zeke's face was impersonal as he drummed his hands on his desk. "For how long have you known about my affairs?" "Three months," my voice croaked. "And it's been the most heart wrecking three months of my life." Zeke shut his beautiful blue eyes then opened them again. "Yeah? And so?" My heart ceased to beat for a moment. "So I want to know why you chose to hurt me this way. We've been married for three years. I've done nothing but love you." A tear escaped my eye as I continued. "I cook and clean. I do your laundry. I ensure when you get back home from work, there's a hot plate on the table. I killed my acting career so I can give you a home." I raised my voice, laced with bitterness. "You don't look at me the same way. We barely had s*x. The last time you touched me was a year ago. We don't go on trips anymore. I just don't understand. After everything I've done, you chose your ex over me." My emotions were worked up that I let out a stream of tears. With a resigned sigh, Zeke stood to his full height. "Honestly, you're so dramatic." He pulled out a drawer and took out some files. "I've been wanting to tell you, but it appears I don't need to bother myself since you already got the gist." He tossed the file on his desk and leaned against it, staring dead into my eyes. "Anna, I want a divorce." * * * * The tension in the office was suffocating. I could hear my blood roaring in my ears. Zeke continued after a moment pause. "Our first year in marriage was great while it lasted but after a while, you don't just look appealing to me anymore." "What do you mean?" I asked, clenching my fists. "Before I met you, you were the most beautiful actress in the world," he said. "You flooded the TV screen with your beauty and grace but look at you now." "Zeke, I had a child," I sobbed. "You of all people knows the changes that comes with child bearing. I can't keep my looks up forever." "And that's the problem," he snapped. "You only had one child but you look like a blotted pig. I can't even take you out to meet my friends anymore." "Is that what this is about?" I asked. "Was this all about my looks? You don't love me anymore because I'm fat and ugly?" "That's part of it," he answered. "Another reason are my family. They don't like you, especially my mom. I've thought long about divorcing you for a while now. Today seemed to be that day." I shook my head. "What about our son, Timmy? He's just a year and a half old. He needs you now more than I do." Zeke clenched his jaws. "You mean that bastard son?" "B-bastard son?" I stuttered, my mind going blank. "How dare you call your son that?" "Shut up," Zeke's eyes glinted. "That bastard is not my son. The DNA tests in the file proves it." He snatched one of the files and hurled it at me. When I opened it and read the reports, my heart did a summersault. "These are all lies," I cried, my hands shaking. "I refuse to believe it. I've never slept with another man but you. Whoever ran this test is a quack." "I believe what I chose to believe," he sneered at me. "Mother was right. You're indeed a w***e. If Sandra hadn't convinced me to run this test, I wouldn't have found out the truth." "Sandra put you up to this?" I scrunched up the test result into a ball. "That b***h wants to destroy us, Zeke. How could you let her get into your head." "Silence," he yelled at me. "Sandra wants what's best for me. She loves me and cares about my needs plus she's incredible in bed, unlike you. I'm going to marry her." My heart was shattered into many pieces. I didn't know what to say anymore. "You married me because of my money," Zeke continued. "I should've read the signs a long time ago before I asked you to marry me. I regret ever knowing you. I HATE YOU, ANNA!" 'I HATE YOU ANNA' resonated in my skull like a million echo. I supported my weight on the wall else I'd have collapsed from shock. "You want a divorce, right?" I swallowed hard. "Fine. Let's get divorced but I promise you, Zeke. I'll never forgive you for this." "f**k you and f**k your forgiveness," he snatched the divorce papers and threw them at me. "I've signed my part. Sign yours and leave it at the desk before I return home." He took his coat and shrugged into it. "I'm going to hang out with Sandra if you feel like knowing." And he brushed passed me, leaving me behind in his study. The moment he left, I broke down and cried my eyes out.
