Aurora's Awakening ; A Love Rekindled, Second Chance Mate's Revenge

Aurora walked into the bar and headed straight to the private space which Nico had told her about earlier. A smile appeared on their faces upon seeing each other. "It's good to see you again", Nico said and pulled her into a hug. Her fragrance filled his nose as he sniffed it. He was happy to see her after two years. "And you too..." Nico checked her out from her head to her toes, flushed of regret filled his heart. He ran away from his pack to a faraway place, just to let Daxton have Aurora to himself. He thought he would heal in no time, unfortunately, his heart still harboured the pain. Nico tried to date several girls in the human world to clear him but it all ended in more regrets, eventually, he stopped trying. A year ago, he got in contact with one of his loyal guards, who told him about all the evil plots of Daxton, his brother and his mate, Alice, who turned out to be Aurora's best friend. Nico paid him handsomely to get all the information from them, he moved to the pack a month ago, but with a hidden identity to make sure Aurora doesn't get harmed. "You look so beautiful than the last time I saw you" he complimented, trying to access her more. "Daxton took care of me a lot" she replied with an innocent smile, Nico frowned. "That's good of him." He pulled out a seat for her, he sat down opposite her. "Yes, you call me to discuss some things with me, what's that?." She asked in a lower tone. Nico bowed his head and sighed out. "It's about my brother, Daxton and your best friend Alice, I know you love them so much but they are your enemy behind the scene and they are trying so hard to bring you down" he spoke, narrowing his eyes at her with furrowed brows. His words were sincere. Aurora breathed in and out for a few seconds, trying to prevent herself from screaming at him. "How could you say those things about them? Apart from my parents, Alice and Daxton have been the best thing that has ever happened to me, they are kind, caring and always make me feel safe. So, tell me, how would they harm me?" She explained those words with her eyes fixed at him. "They planned to manipulate you into liking them before striking at you. I am very sure of what I am saying" He tried to convince her. "I don't believe you, I know we both had a soft spot for each other but it is all in the past because you left, if you think I will leave Daxton to be with you then you must be joking." She bursted into a half yelled voice. "I know what I should have done to him, but my respect for him won't make me do that. He is making me lose my mind, he should go already." She fumes inwardly. "I blame myself for leaving you in the place. I haven't healed from that grave mistake. I'm really sorry" he apologized with regret all over him, only if he knew Daxton had an interior motive and it would affect him a lot then he would have fought for her. "It is all in the past now, and I have moved on." She said those words calmly, trying not to show she still loves him. Aurora felt a part of her jumped for joy. Nico was the first person she loved with her whole heart, they loved each other. Everything went the wrong way when he came back from his assignment to realise Daxton loved her too, so Nico sacrificed his love and went away. Leaving her with no option than to marry Daxton, though, she doesn't love him as she does to Nico but over the years, she learnt to love him. "All I care about now is your safety and nothing more. I planted someone in the pack to watch and observe everything going on there. Please, Aurora, believe me." Nick tried to explain further. "This is the height of it all." She muttered with gritted teeth and stood up abruptly, pointing a finger at him. "Don't ever summon my presence ever again and I will make sure that guard of yours is fished out and punished severely. She threatened, rolled her eyes and walked out angrily. "What should I do? I can't watch them harm her like that, something needs to be done." Nico thought as he watched her leave. Aurora paced to and fro of her room, she has been thinking about everything Nico told her about in the afternoon. "Nico can never lie to me especially against his brother, maybe he has changed. Why does he have to appear at this time? No matter what he does I must not ignite the both shared, it is all in the past now. All he told me were lies, they would never harm me. I trust them" she concluded after a few hours of thought, she sighed out and walked over to the window with her eyes fixed on an empty space. Everywhere was silent, but not dark as the street lights shine brightly, it was 2 : 00 am. Two persons' shadows were revealed outside the Ancient building [where the Alpha and Luna lives]. "Who could be walking so late at night?" she questioned, curiously expecting to see who they were. Daxton and Alice??. She was still wondering what they were doing so late at night when two masculine figures joined them. They discussed for a few minutes, Daxton handed a bag of money to him and they parted ways. "What secret business do they have with those men in the middle of the night? Daxton told me he has something to do outside the pack, I saw him leaving, why is he still here?." She thought to herself, looking more confused as ever. Aurora drifted away from the window, headed to the bed, laid on it and forced herself to sleep.
