STILL STARLET POV
Dragging my feet to the bathroom, I poke my head into Jessie's room to make sure she made it home last night. Seeing she did, I continued to my goal. Looking into the mirror again, I'm greeted with a hot mess. My bun is sideways. My mascara is all down my face, making me look like a clown. The piece of my hair is sticking to my cheek, assuming from my drool. Wish I could wake up looking refreshed and pretty like girls do in movies. Which we all know is bullshit In reality. Taking my contacts out, which feel like they are glued to my eyes, I hop in the shower. Washing my hair, I can't help but get purple eyes out of my head. That cocky irragrant two-bit douche canoe.
I just wanted to bring him to the table and hang out with us. I hate people feeling like outcasts and loners. So I always try to include people. Apparently, I was wrong. If I never see him again, that will still be too soon. Goddess, my mouth feels like I swallowed a cotton ball. Least Jessie met a really nice guy. She really deserves it. shaking my head from my thoughts, I get out and start getting ready for today. Once I got done getting back to the look of the living standards, I started breakfast for us both.
Sitting down the French toast and juice, Jessie walks in. "You're up early she says. " Looking at the clock, it's 9:45. babe, it's literally almost 10 o'clock. With her head resting on her hand, she plays with her food, moving it around the plate. Jessie, "Are you OK?" I asked. Yea, I'm sorry. she says. It's just that I can't get Jacobi out of my head. He wanted to take me on a date this afternoon while you visit your folks. I grab her hands and say. I'm truly am happy for you. She finally looks up at me and into my eyes. Starlet! She let's out a surprised gasp. Your eyes! I hate doing it, but I lied to her again and say yea "it's new contacts, I wanna try them out."
Thankfully, she has an intention span of a three year old. Oh, so anyways, Jacobi wants to take me out to lunch, and you know I never believed that whole love at first sight you always say about, or how you just know. with Jacobi, I get it. She says, looking out the window all dreamily. Oh, and after you left last night, I flipped on that guy. Jessie fills in as she casually eats her food. You did what?! Now, it was my turn to ask her in a shocked voice. Yea, he came down the stairs to try to apologize and introduce himself, but I had him sit so I could yell at him.
I didn't think yelling in his stomach would prove useful. He's really tall. Anyways I ripped into him 3 days from Sunday. He just sat there, not once getting mad, or tried to interrupt me. Shortly after that, I left because the club was closing. Jacobi and I exchanged numbers, and here we are. "We'll look at you, Ms. spitfire." I said. Thanks for having my back. You didn't need to, you know? yea, but that's what best friends are for. So what time is your lunch date with Jacobi? Looking over to the clock, she branches. In Like twenty minutes! Jessie got up from the table so fast her chair flew backward.
I can't believe I'm gonna be late for my first date! she screams from the hallway. The bathroom door slams shut, followed by the water. Following her cue, I put the dishes in the dishwasher and changed into jeans and a T-shirt to get ready for my parents. opting for a ponytail, my hair is done. I yell into the shower to let her know I'm leaving. Right as I opened the door, Jacobi stood there hand raised about to knock. looking up, I see that he has a white shirt and Jacki shorts on. Hey Jacobi, she's in the shower. Almost done. She lost track of time. Go ahead and make yourself comfortable. Instead, he just stands there rigged. Wide eyes staring at me. Uh, starlet, I thought your eyes were brown. Looking away, I said new contacts. Well, gotta run, have fun! With that, I left him at the door speechless with my heart beating against my chest.
Once I'm in the safety of my car, I take a deep breath, calm my nerves, and drive away. I got about a two hour drive to meet my parents. They live deep in the forest, for the privacy they take a little to seriously if you ask me. Hooking my phone up to my blue tooth, I began my travel.
HANSEL POV
I slept like complete s**t. I couldn't stop tossing and turning, letting the turn of events run on a loop through my head. Jacobi is right. I need to get out of my head and pull my arms in. Least try to get to know her. He still refuses to tell me her name, to add salt to the wound he's going to her house to pick up Jessie. Getting up, I head to the shower and go through my routine. I put on my tailored suite. Grabbing at my colar, to try not to feel suffercated. Today, I'm wearing a teal one with a white undershirt. I just wish I could walk into a meeting with jeans and a T-shirt, better yet, sweat pants. Ugh, yes. Brushing back my thick black hair. Tied my shiny black loafers, I take a deep breath and walk down to my boardroom for the monthly meeting.
Sitting, there are three elders and two other alphas that I have never seen before. Alpha Hansel, one man, stood up with his hand stretched out. He stands about 6'4 ", long brown hair in a pony tail with a thick brown beard. He's on the more stocky side. My name is Alpha Chris. The other man stood up. Same height, Expect he has black hair that's shaved, with a bushy beard, black eyes. He's on the more plump side. My name is Alpha jake. Shaking both their hands, I sat down at the table. So what can I do for you, gentlemen? Alpha Chris speaks up first. We are aware that your beta and yourself are both mateless. So we brought our daughters here for you, to meet and them to stay for a while.
"Sorry, Alpha chris," I start, but my beta has found his mate. He sends a glare over to the elders. "Well, is he marked?" he asked. No, he isn't. They just met. Well, most are mated and marked that night. So by our standards, he's singel. "Although you're right." I said, standing up, leaning over the table. Making direct eye contact. This is my pack. This is my way, and BY. MY. STANDARDS. HE IS MATED! Chris stood up, meeting my stance.
Watch your words, boy. You can't shift, and I was willing to let my daughter be your chosen mate, which you should be grateful for. Most would love an alpha female.
Well, sorry to bust your bubble, Chris. I found my mate too. Before you ask, the answer is no. We're not marked or mated. He let's out a mechanical laugh. "So we are to believe BOTH of you found your mates?" My answer was simple and direct. "Yes." You will not come to my territory trying to push me to your objective. Now, if you'll excuse me, I have a busy day. You're welcome to spend the night, or stay for dinner your choice. Jake stands up. "So you are calling the elders Liars, right?" Looking at the old fool, I smile evily and say,"Yes," that's exactly what I said. They didn't notify me what the meeting was for, nor did they ask for my approval. Now excuse me. I'm sure they can show you out if you don't like to stay.
