Seeing From a Different Angle (Trevor's POV)

- Trevor's POV -

As we waited, I decided to get to know their friend outside with us while Travis on the other hand stayed at his spot standing still infront of the closed door waiting for it to open to I guess see Maya again.

There we sat on the ground and of course, asked him what his name was.

He said his name was Luke and before I could ask anything that had anything to do with Maya, he already did it.

He said he's known Maya for years like 8 or 10 or was it 6 to 7 years? Anyways, they've been friends for years apparently because their houses were near each other.

Well that's good to know, I might find more things about her now while waiting and plus, if they've been friends for that long, they probably know a lot about each other then.

Since he mentioned they were childhood best friends, they must be close but I don't want to assume anything before making sure.

He said

“Yeah, we were really close when we were much younger but when we were a little close to our teenage years, we didn't get to talk much specially she barely played outside by then. It took years before I actually got to see her and talk to her even if our houses were near to each other and I saw her again because of your brother Troy”.

Hmmm, since he mentioned Troy into the picture, I asked how he got to meet Troy before I keep asking about Maya.

“Well you know, he was friends with one of my old friends and we got introduced by them then started talking and hanging out more often ‘til we became friends and that sums it all up on how we met”.

I honestly thought Maya was one of the reasons Luke and Troy met and became friends since Luke and Maya knew each other longer but it seemed like it was the other way around, because of Troy, Maya and Luke met again.

What a coincidence that it would've linked to her again because I remember at some point, Troy told us he wasn't talking to her anymore all because he was leaving and stuff.

Now that's all cleared, I went back to asking about Maya.

“How was she as a friend” I asked.

“She was really one adventurous girl and curious about anything. She was also really friendly and because of her, we had tons of friends growing up because she'll go up to anyone and ask if they could be friends”. He happily answered while sounding a bit nostalgic from the moments he shared growing up with Maya. I have no doubt that a lot of people wanted to be her friend because looking at myself now, I wouldn't really want to make friends nor make a move to simply talk to someone to be friends but she has a different effect on me.

She makes me comfortable enough to trust her to be a good friend, she feels like home to me.

Now saying that out loud, sounds weird to say about someone you've just met.

Anyways, all I'm really saying is I've easily built a strong feeling of trust towards her because it looks like she's a friend who'll always have your back and never let you down!

The best type of friend to have!

I thought of wanting to ask more about him this time but all that came out of my mouth was more questions about her instead.

Since that's all that went out of me, I decided to stick with it and go along to wherever my question goes and what interesting answers I'll get.

As we continued talking about Maya and their long history growing up close to each other, I noticed that we caught Travis' attention. I guess because we were talking about Maya because he seemed pretty curious about her too because he's been standing there by the door the whole time trying to listen to whatever Troy and Maya were talking about. Aside from that, all he ever did this whole time was try to listen to what they were talking about and look back and forth from his watch while he was kinda looking impatient the longer they took inside so I guess he decided to know more about her through Luke instead.

He asked some stuff about her and what I assume is him low-key asking whether they were “childhood sweethearts”.

Hmmmm, never really crossed my mind to be honest. They just seem like pretty close friends to me which I was right about because according to Luke, he never saw Maya romantically not once and same goes for her when it comes to him.

I looked over to Travis and he looked relieved somehow by this answer? I didn't really know why but I'm glad he took a break for a while from all the worrying and gave a chance to join in our little chit chat session we have here with Luke. Well, mainly talk to Luke and not really much to me but it was great to see him stop worrying over something even just for a little while.

I said “just a little while” because as soon as he got the answer he was waiting for, he went back to his spot waiting for that door to open or for Troy and Maya to wrap things up.

Seems like he really wanted to talk to her. Well I can agree with him on that at least, I was still so excited to meet her hearing how great she is according to Luke and their fun moments together when they were younger.

We continued on talking about their childhood when I heard the door knob turn and the door open.

The door opened and seemed like it startled Travis since he was standing so close to the door but even if he was that startled, it didn't stop his excitement from going in to see her again and meet her once Troy told us we could finally come in.

I wrap up the conversation I had with Luke and told him it was to be continued later on.

I then went in the room to go talk to her and ready myself to think of what I should ask her.

Other than that, to prepare myself to answer her when she starts asking me or even us a question.

Although as I got in, my nerves started to shake again I was starting to become nervous around her again. I was sure this wasn't just excitement I was feeling...

I felt pressured of saying the wrong words to her... or not even SAYING ANY WORDS TO HER-

I panicked!
