Just Like You (Trevor's POV)

“Sure! I'd love to hear the nickname you make for us!” I joyfully responded.

I sure can't wait to hear what it'll be!

She looked glad to hear my response but she doesn't know I feel happier that I sound like I'm an important person to her even if we've only just met today. Well, not important I guess but more on special.

Yeah, that's the word I was looking for, It sounded like I was a special person in Maya's life already. After I told her my thoughts about it, Travis answered right after.

“Yeah, I'm thinking of one for you right now”

Travis answered while looking like he's deep in thought thinking of that nickname he said he's gonna call Maya with.

I look over at Maya and see a different look she has on her face. The glad look she had when I told her my thoughts about it were clearly wiped out clean and replaced with a different look, like a happier one. She looked thrilled and really curious that it shows clearly just through looking at her eyes, and to make it even more obvious, you could hear it in her voice too! as she says...

“Oh! what did you want to call me?”

She curiously asked him.

Man, I wish I had that same effect on her like making her feel like that in an instant just like Travis so easily simply just by talking to her...

Anyways, apparently Travis still didn't have anything to call her by which I think kinda bummed her out but still, she had that smile plastered on her face not going away any sooner as she gets more curious along the way waiting for that nickname Travis has for her. She then says something that caught both Travis and I's attention.

She said...

“Oh, that's good to hear but don't worry if you don't have one at the moment. I'd be glad if both of you could call me a friend one day though”

As she ended it with those words, she instantly looked surprised with what she just said. She looked really cute like that. I wanted to assure her though that we already do see her as a friend, well for me at least 'cause I'm sure of it already!

“Aren't we already friends though?” I happily asked her. I didn't want to go straight forward just telling her that we're friends already so I tried to tell her or tell her subtly hinting that she already was with the way I said it.

I feel like that's how Travis would've said it and I wanted to try how he says things, maybe it'll help me with giving much more of an impact to her with how I say things.

Then Travis goes on with assuring her as well by saying...

“Yeah, you're part of the group! you passed the test just by being you and we'd love to be your friend or even more!” then he finished off with a smile this time but a rather sweeter smile than he usually does... but hold on-

What did he say? more?

It set both Maya and I wondering what he meant by that specially when he ended it with a smile like that.

Travis then continues and explains what “more” he meant.

“Best friends of course! you knew what I meant right?” and once again he ends that with a smirk to Maya.

I realized he was just trying to tease Maya again with the way he looked and sounded when he said it.

But still got me wondering, was that teasing or was he trying to get flirty with her again.

Whichever it was and whatever his intentions really were, I can tell it worked because now looking at Maya, she looks shy again but not really uncomfortable and her cheeks were slowly turning rosy-red!

“Woah” I thought to myself, Travis is basically an expert at getting girls after seeing what he just did there or maybe I just don't know how to interact with girls or even anyone-

Guess I've got a lot more to learn at this.

Although no matter how much I try to learn it doing it the “Travis way”, it'll never work if she already has her eyes set on someone which gets me thinking maybe that someone is already Travis because of how much of an impact he's got on her with every move and every word he spoke to her.

Really cannot compare anything I make her feel to the feelings Travis manages to easily make her feel.

I tried to just calm down with all that thinking because it looks and sounds like I'm only really overthinking all of this again when there's nothing there. I just tried thinking it's just Travis trying to playfully tease Maya since this is really just how he is with most new people he meets and who he wants to get closer with.

Strange way of doing it I gotta admit but it apparently works because they eventually get more comfortable with it in the long run and in some cases, they play along too or starts teasing Travis first.

It may be nothing to him but to Maya, it seems like it meant something else to her with the way she said...

“Yeah- of course I knew you meant that-”

She answered in which I can assume in an awkward way. The way she said those words, it sounded like she thought Travis meant something else by being “more” than just friends with him in the future, I can't really blame her, even I thought that he meant something else than thinking he meant “best friend”.

All that didn't last long as Maya again tries to move on and talk about other stuff trying to change the topic which was just her going back to what she'd call us for now.

Like I've said before, I really don't mind whatever she decides on calling me because I'm sure as long as I hear my name come out of her mouth with that sweet voice she has, it always has and always will feel enchanting to me.

Anyways, I need to get back on track, here's what she chose to call us for the mean time while still working on the whole nickname thing.

Maya said...

“Well, if we're friends now I could call you Jay and for you of course, Travis for now”

Just like I said, hearing my name come out of her lips is simply magic to me and I don't even know why.
