LUCIEN’S POV
The packed house had a large crowd present for the engagement party between Elaine and me. I hated that it was made such a huge ceremony but I had no choice. Alec and his sister insisted that it be made as public as the word public could best be described, I was the Alpha after all, and Elaine was royal too.
I searched the party with my eyes for traces of Corrigan. I felt a bit of relief that she didn’t show up. I hadn’t told her about the engagement, but now that the party was ongoing, there was no doubt word had gotten to her about my engagement. I however thought she would at least have the decency of attending the party or asking about my plans.
