“Marietta.” Milan’s voice came from behind me so I glanced over my shoulder to see him on the dragon’s back with his hand stretched out towards me. I pressed my lips together and he gave me an encouraging smile before I painstakingly made my way over to where he was.
“Whew.” My heart was pounding in my chest like I had just run for miles and I gave myself a nod after letting myself relax against Milan. “Okay. I’m ready.”
“You’re ready?” came Milan’s voice in my ear as his hands reached out to grab two of the small protrusions on the dragon’s back and after a couple of seconds, I rapidly shook my head sideways because no, I totally wasn’t ready to be several feet above the ground.
