Chapter Nineteen
Mandy Morphatt checked the time on her phone. She still had half an hour before she needed to be at the studio, which gave her just enough time for a decent coffee.
She checked both ways were clear before crossing the busy main road. Mandy was particularly careful these days, especially after her near-fatal accident.
A year earlier, she jumped off a bus and ran in front of it, desperate to beat the cut-off time for a MacDonald’s breakfast. With her focus aimed at the takeaway across the road, she did not see the car overtaking the parked bus.
