Chapter Twenty-Three Mandy sat in the hairdresser’s chair, admiring her new hairdo in the mirror before her. She generally kept her hair short, and above her collar, mainly due to the fact that it made washing it less of a trouble. Just as with make-up, Mandy had never been that fond of spending a fortune on umpteen different shades, types, blends and colours. A simple foundation, touch of eye-liner and shadow, and a generous layer of lipstick, was all she needed to face the world. Her hair colour was a different matter. Mandy would have that changed to suit her mood on a semi-regular basis. She had tried jet-black, auburn, various shades of blonde, silver, green, red and, this time, purple.
