Kali's POV
The room was too warm,too still, and too heavy with the scent of s*x. It echoed and bounced off the walls, and even coiled around me like a rattle snake that had already secured its prey and was just waiting for the right moment to deal with its prey.
It didn't help that an unhealthy amount of quiet had settled in between the cracks in the room. It was everywhere, like a thick blanket threatening to suffocate me, and while that was concerning to a degree, I quickly figured that I wasn't exactly worried about the silence or the smell of s*x still lingering in the air.
It was something else, something else I still wasn't sure I was ready to admit.
