Kali's POV The door slammed behind me, and the echo lingered long after the guards were gone. My skin was raw and buzzing and I hated it. Despite how hard I'd fought against them, their grip on me was just too strong. I'd begged, pleaded and resulted to thrashing when they'd pulled me out of the interrogation room. I told them to let me go, but none of them listened. Instead, their grip on me tightened like I was some kind of hardened criminal. After what seemed like forever, I eventually gave up.
