Kali's POV I'd barely slept and even though I knew it was going to tell on me later today, it didn't change anything. If anything, the thought of what waited for me today only spiked my anxiety levels to the roof. Shadows bruised the skin under my eyes, and every toss, every turn had only reminded me of what waited at dawn. The council, their judgment, and their knives made of words.
