Kali's POV I spluttered awake, and for a minute, I honestly wished I didn't. My head throbbed in ways and with an intensity I didn't even know was possible. My vision blurred, and I hated how I couldn't make out my environment immediately. When I came to, the world was black. Not the kind of black that came with sleep, soft and safe, but a deeper one, thick, and smothering me alive all at once.
