Rejected and Claimed by The Alpha king

Chapter 4

Diego POV

Hours passed and my beast didn't stop insisting we go to her, our mate.

I wasn't going to allow that , not when she couldn’t stay by our side for much long.

I didn't have much time left and the last thing I wanted was leaving behind a broken mate. Not like I was capable of loving anyone. Staying by my side was not an option for her. That's why despite Blake's insistence and annoyance over my refusal to go see her,I remained adamant.

“ I don't understand you though. You have the perfect candidate who can breed your pup. Why won't you claim her?” My beta, Theo,asked. Ever since I brought that lady back to the pack and he learnt that she is my mate,he didn't stop trying to convince me.

“ I do want a breeder but that's not a reason enough to claim her. She doesn't deserve to be treated like a breeding object.” I replied stubbornly.

“ Since when did the alpha king start having a heart to care about others?” Leo snickered.

“ Judging from her situation, she is about to go rogue anytime. That means she was banished from her pack. Making her your breeder is doing her a favour. She can become a pack member.” Leo reminded me.

He was right. When I rescued her, the scent on her body was slowly fading. It meant that she was not affiliated to any pack at that moment. If she didn't find another pack to take her in,she was bound to go rogue.

“ Regardless,I don't want to take advantage of her.” I replied.

“ I don't understand you but I'll repeat it. This is your chance to get those old folks off your back. Breed her and give the pack an heir. You can give her a title and allow her to live here in peace.” Leo insisted.

I turned and glared at him.

“ I said I'm not taking advantage of a weak woman to solve my problems. I'll find my own way to deal with them.” I snapped at Leo.

Annoyed and not in the mood to say another word to my beta, I left the office and headed out.

My feet wandered and before I knew it, I was standing outside her room. The sweet scent of Jasmine mixed with grapes slithered into my nose and I found myself taking a deep breath to inhale more of my mate's scent.

Black purred in delight.

“ Mate. I want mate.” He whimpered, fighting to take over.

“ She is our mate.” I corrected him. Alphas are known to be possessive of their mates and Black has not backed down from showing me that she is his mate.

“ I thought you didn't want her?” My beast mocked me and I shoved him to the back of my mind.

Didn't want her? Goddess knew how many mantras I chanted just not to walk in her room and stake my claim on her.

I exercised so much restraint not to sink my fangs on her beautiful and fair neck and make her mine forever. Goddess knew that there was nothing more I wanted than to give in to that insanely and maddening mate pull and mark that beautiful soul as my mate but as much as I wanted to do that,I couldn't. I couldn't fulfill my desires without dragging her to hell with me. She didn't deserve that, not when her life looked miserable enough.

Kali POV

I slowly opened my eyes,the task proved to be hard. Looking around,I realised that I was in an unfamiliar place. The memories of how I left the moon lake pack and got attacked by a rogue and then…

“ You are awake.” A voice sounded from beside me, prompting me to turn my head to the direction of the voice.

Besides the bed stood a lady with a pair of the most mesmerising blue orbs I have ever seen. She had a smile adjourning her lips making her resemble a fairy.

“ Thank goddess you are finally awake.” She murmured, a sigh leaving her lips. I could see the worry etched on her face making me almost choke on my tears.

“ How are you feeling? Do you feel pain anywhere?” The lady asked and I shook my head.

I was not feeling any pain, just numbness.

“ My lady, should I inform the Alpha that she is awake.” Someone else asked. My eyes searched around and I spotted another lady standing on the corner.

“ No need. The Alpha is already having a lot on his plate. The elders won't rest, nagging him about having a baby.” The blue eyed lady replied with a sigh.

My lady? The Alpha?

“ Who are you and where am I?” I finally asked the question I was dying to ask after regaining my senses.

“ My brother found you and brought you back.” She replied with a smile.

“ Your brother? “ I wondered out loud. Why would someone save me? A broken and rejected person like. Then the last memory before I fainted flashed in my mind.

Mate.

I was saved by my mate?

The door burst open just as the lady opened her mouth to answer me and for the first time in many days, Venus’ voice echoed in my mind. It was loud, compared to the whisper I heard before I fainted.

“Mate.” She howled happily.My eyes widened with terror.

“ Amber, can you leave us? I need to talk to her.” His deep magnetic voice sent shivers straight to my heart and I felt warmth pool down there. Goddess! Help me.

Amber nodded and left together with the other lady I didn't get to know her name.

With the two gone,and awkward silence clouded the room.

“ I believe you already know about it?”The man finally opened his mouth and said.

I nodded, keeping my head low. I braced myself for the inevitable knowing that it was going to come sooner.

“ I don't want a mate…” he started but I cut him off.

“ But you need a child.You need someone to breed your pup.”

I blurted out. I picked that from Amber's short conversation with the other lady.

The man narrowed his eyes at me,his Alpha power surging in the air,making me submit.

“ Who told you that?” He asked, then shook his head immediately.

“ It doesn't matter. Stay away from my business.” He warned. Although he appeared displeased,his tone was not harsh.

“ I can be your breeder. I am your mate, that means I can give birth to a strong pup for you.”

I knew I was pushing it but I was willing to try my luck. When one is shoved in a bottomless abyss, they'll grab any chance to crawl out.

The man looked at me with a hint of curiosity. That gave me the confidence to continue.

“ I am willing to be at your disposal. We can even draft a contract. If I don't give you a pup without a year,you can get rid of me.” I mustered the courage to continue.

Seemingly amused by my actions,the man chuckled.

“ What makes you think I,the Alpha king, needs to strike a deal to have a breeder?” He asked through gritted teeth.

“ You need me and I need something in return. Instead of rejecting me,you can use me.” I replied.

“ You mean we can use each other?” He corrected me with a raised brow.

“ What are you getting out of this collaboration?” He asked,narrowing his eyes on me.

“ Justice and revenge.” I declared without hesitation. Power. That's what I needed to get Justice for Katya and my revenge on Luca.

The man burst out laughing like he had just heard a funny joke.

“ Justice and revenge? That's interesting.” He muttered then proceeded to occupy a chair opposite the bed.

“ Show me what you've got. Prove to me that you are sincere about this deal.”
