Chapter 3- Gathering Part 2

I looked at him in surprise, how did he know of my mother. His cold yet slightly warm hand smoothed over my warm cheek, I closed my eyes and took in the gentleness of his touch. I felt his ice blue gaze upon me he spoke and I opened my eyes. "I knew her". He took his hand away from my face. "She and my late mother grew up together, so you could say that I knew her well". 

I had a blank stare, I took a moment before a spoke, "I'm afraid I don't understand Lord Vlad". He took my hand in his and gently kissed it, "Please, call me Vlad, Maybelle". I blushed. "If I'm not mistaken but I would say that you were trying to court me?". He chuckled, "I believe that I am, Maybelle". I stopped laughing, thinking that he was kidding. "Lord uh...Vlad, I was only making light of the situation, I did not really mean or think that you would be trying to court me". "And why not?, I feel like I am drawn to you, you are very beautiful". I blushed again. I had never encountered another person like him before, yes we were of different species but interbeing couples were never unheard of. 

I'm over thinking everything again. I turn to leave, "I should get back to my friends, I've lost them". Vlad stepped closer, "I'm sure you don't have to run off so soon". I moved back a step, then I heard Dany, "Belle, there you are, we were looking everywhere for you, who is this", she says gesturing towards Vlad. "Uh this is Vlad, Lord Vlad". She was shocked, she bowed her head, "Lord Vlad, what a privilege it is to meet you". She looked at me with wide eyes, I just shrugged. 

"The pleasure is all mine, dear". He spoke with such authority but also with gentleness, I never heard of such a combination.  "I did not know that you were acquainted with Lord Vlad, my dear Belle", Dany's said directed at me. 

I stared back with raised eyebrows, " this is actually my first time in having met Lord Vlad". I look up at him, he is much taller than I, which made me feel like a mouse in comparison. But I never felt afraid for some reason. "Well, Alpha Kai is going to make an announcement in a moment, I thought we could all go and listen, of course if the Lord is not occupied, we could all go inside together". 

"I think I have some business to attend to before Alpha Kai's announcement but I will see you all later". We nodded our heads to take leave when Vlad said, "Maybelle, will you stay a moment longer?", I turned and said, "Yes, of course, Dany I'll meet you and Greg inside". She smiled and wiggled her eyebrows up and down, I blushed, she was too much some times, I hoped Vlad did not see her reaction. 

" Your friend she is funny" I was embarrassed, I turned back to Vlad. "She has her moments, what can I do for you?". "Nothing in great deal, I would love for you to join me in dinner tomorrow night, if you have prior arrangements I would see to them forgotten". 

"I would love to b-b-but I'm working unfortunately, I work at the Pack hospital". " I am very acquainted with the head of the hospital, I will see to your day free." I had no idea how to take his assertion. "Lord, I implore you..". "I will not take no for an answer". He abruptly stated. I exhaled in frustration, "Lord Vlad, I am flattered in your interest in me but I am not accustomed to or will ever be the type of female to just take a males company, even if he is a Lord". 

He stepped closer to me, his breath on my face. Surprisingly he smelt of fresh pine and fresh morning dew. I drew his scent in, he reached with his hand to my face once again. I only had met this man twenty minutes ago but I felt like I could fall into him forever. He lowered his head down to my lips, I leaned in and closed my eyes. To my surprise his lips were quite warm. He moved closer, pressed against me, his free hand moved down to my waist. I moaned unintentionally, I moved my hands around his cold neck then to his thick black hair. I never thought I would be in this position, but here I am. We kissed passionately, I was surprised how much I enjoyed this very intimate embrace with this almost stranger. 

A few more moments go by and we are still embraced, with mouths interlocked. After realizing that it must have been almost a life time to my exaggeration, I pulled away and looked at his eyes, they were dark blue with lust. "My lady, why have you stopped us". "I am surprised at myself, I have never found myself in such a compromising position." I smiled embarrassingly. "If you want, we could be in a more compromising position at dinner tomorrow night?". My eyes widened, Vlad chuckled. "I am only teasing you, I do not just see you as an object, I see you as something much more". 

I smiled, he bent down to kiss me once again, I did not resist, it felt like fate had drawn us both together to this pond to meet. Neither of us wanted to leave but we knew we must, the Alpha was about to make an announcement. I pulled away again and smiled, " we must go inside". And with that we walked inside together.
