A Dragons Usual Day
The Dragon's roar shook the cave, making the gold and treasure items he had hoarded over the years trickle from the piles around him. Another day after 300 years of living, yet nothing had changed. He thought about something different he could do, to somehow change his monotonous, boring, life. However nothing changed no matter what he tried he couldn't find the change he needed. Shapshifting into a smaller form, the dragon left his layer padding his soft paws onto the cave rock as he ran to the cave entrance.
The dragon jumped out of the hole in the side of his cliff far from the ground at the place humans called the Barren Mountains. Falling roaring as a lion and then clawing as an eagle the dragon flew off towards the kingdom known as Willow. It was the only place the dragon could have a small break from his normal boring run of the day, for humans were different, always doing something unexpected.
The dragon landed in an alley in the more rundown part of Willow. The dragon turned into a small black cat. The dragon bit the gold coin he had brought from his lair and sat, waiting, wagging his tail annoyed. "I'm here!" a little girl shouted. It's about time the dragon thought. "I'm sorry I'm late something came up." the girl said quickly pulling down her sleeve. The dragon caught it quickly and was enraged by the bruise on the girls arm. The dragon set the coin down gently though and tried to calm down being unable to interfere with humans. The girl smiled cheerfully and gently petted him. The dragon felt abased but let it pass. The dragon trailed behind the girl on her way to the store thinking about the deal made with the elders. After today, his 300th year, he will stay under a spell to sleep for 200 years in order to gift this girl powers to escape her prison.
