“Just come on in!” shouts a gruff voice from the other side, “It’s an inn, not a goddamned palace!” I look back at Drusilla and shrug. I know I can’t go in there… I’d be at this vampire’s mercy. My only advantage is the daylight. I chew on my lip then look back at the door. “Oh, good sir,” I sigh sweetly, “I need your help! I’m all alone and… lost!” There is nothing but silence for a few seconds, until I hear him walking toward the door. The sound of heavy boots approaches, and I take the opportunity to adjust my dress and my pose again.
