The hours drip on like molasses, slow and torturous as we wait for night to fall again. The other sirens are getting anxious, ready for the hunt and ready to taste the sweet delicacy of vampire energy. We’re watching from the windows as the sun turns golden-orange in the late evening, ready to sink below the horizon. Persephone is sitting beside me, her brow furrowed in its usual angry expression.
