Chapter 8

2081 Words
"You have got to be f*cking kidding me." When I opened my door I see none other than Sarah the bar sk*nk naked laying in my bed next to a naked Isaac. "Sam, I." "You don't get to say a f*cking word. Get your f*cking clothes on and get the f*ck out of my house!!" The yelling had woke Isaac up. He looked in between Sarah and my self before sitting up with the sheet covering him. "Baby it's not what it looks like." "Don't call me baby. And I'm pretty sure what it looks like is you hooking up with the bar sl*t." " Sam!! Are you home?" "In here!!" I yell to Sadie. Sadie starts walking to the bedroom. "What the h*ll happened to your....." She is cut off when she sees a half dressed Sarah and a still naked Isaac. "You have got to be kidding me?" "I believe those were my words too." Sadie and I look at each other. Rage filling both our eyes. "Sadie leave. This doesn't concern you." "Excuse you, She is more than welcome to see you slumming it with this filth." "B*tch who do you think you're talking to?" Sarah pipes in. "Oh no honey she was talking about you. Not to you. Big difference." Sadie says about ready to pounce. "Go to h*ll Sadie." "Oh, I've already been. I don't plan on going back anytime soon. You on the other hand." Sadie takes that time to lunge at Sarah, landing blow after blow to the b*tches face. Isaac quickly pulls on a pair of basketball shorts and goes to grab Sadie off of Sarah when I step in and land a punch to his left cheek. "Sam what the f*ck!!" "That was for bringing Scott into a fight that he should not have been in." I land another punch to his nose. "That was for last night." I through my leg up connecting with his b*lls. "And that is for cheating on me." Isaac is on the ground groaning. I look over and see Sarah on the ground holding her nose as it bleeds. "Lets go." Sadie and I both walk out into the living room just as Ian walks in. "Hey it was taking you forever so I thought I'd come check and what the h*ll happened to this place?" Ian says in one big breath. I kind of giggle at that. It was amusing in a f*cked up situation. "We will explain when we get home." Sadie says. Just then Sarah and Isaac come walking out of the bedrrom. They stop in their track when they see Ian. "Bro. What the h*ll man? What is the matter with you?" Sadie and I don't even give Isaac the time to explain we walk out to the car and get in and wait for Ian. 5 minutes later Sarah is running out the door and down the street. 5 minutes after that Ian is walking out of the house getting into the car. He doesn't say a word. He just drives us back to his and Sadies house. Once we get there and I have had a few drinks I explain everything to Ian and Sadie about last night. Everything Isaac said. The way he acted towards me. And me going to a hotel. Then waking up this morning and going home to find them naked. "Sam kicked as* though. It was awesome to watch." "I wish I could have seen that." Ian says giving me a fist bump. "You weren't too bad yourself Sadie. You kicked Sarahs as*." "Why thank you. That being said if you don't fire her, I'll beat her as* again." " Okay calm down killer. I'll take care of it." Ian says placing a kiss on her cheek. "So what are you going to do now?" Sadie looks over at me with concern in her eyes. "I don't know. But I know I need some space for a little while. And I don't want you guys to worry, but I am going to go out of town for a little while." "Where?" "I don't know Sadie. I just need time." I spent the night over at Sadie's. Her and Ian went back to the house to pack me some clothes and toiletries that I would need. As far as I know they didn't say anything to Isaac but said he was pretty messed up and asking about me. Sadie even said he cried. The next day I pack up my car, saying my goodbyes, and hit the road. I don't have a destination in mind. I just know I have to give myself time. time to heal. Time to think. Time to be me. My first destination is Yellowstone National Park. It is so beautiful in the spring time. All the amazing colors of the hot springs. The animals all over, some even up close and personal. The flowers and fresh air. It was all so beautiful. I am so glad I stopped here. It was worth it. I decide to drive East and see what Chicago will have in store for me. I love Chicago Fire, PD, and Med., so I wanted to see the city. See if it really looks the way they show it. To my surprise I was able to actually meet some of the cast from al 3 shows as they were shooting a seen for a cross over event. It was amazing. I figure while I am heading West I might as well hit New York. Honestly it is too big for my taste. So I move on quickly. Sadie and Isaac have been a blessing. On top of my own savings they have been helping me with money to help me on my little adventure. We talk weekly. "He's still asking about you, you know." Sadie says in a somber voice. " Yeah and what's new?" "Sam that's not fair. You haven't talked to him since you left." "So what you're on his side?" "I'm not on anyone's side. I just think you need to come home and talk to him." "I'm not ready for that yet." "Okay, okay. I get it. So where are you off too now?" "I think I am going to go through Louisiana." "Oooooh, fun." "Yup. But listen I have to go my phone is about to die and I need to get some sleep. I have a long day tomorrow. Love you." "Love you." We hang up the phone and I go to take a shower and get some sleep before I start the long drive tomorrow. I finally make it to New Orleans. The biggest small city, as they call it. I absolutely love the culture here. I love the people, the music, and I love how lively it is here. "Can I buy you a drink?" I turn to see a handsome stranger standing beside me. He is damn good looking. He has tousled medium brown hair with a very chiseled jaw. He is well built as well. Very good eye candy. His body screams Channing Tatum, while his face screams Scott Eastwood. It should be illegal to look that good. "No I'm good. But thank you." "Okay." He says as he starts to walk away. "What no cheesy pick-up lines?" He turns and smirks at me. "You don't strike me as a girl who likes it when guys use lines to try and talk to her." "You would be right on that." "Well you have yourself a good night." He nods his head slightly towards me and turns back around. A small laugh leaves my mouth. He turns his head ever so slightly. Catching my smile, then turning back around. "What's so funny?" "It's nothing." "Oh please do tell." "I've never had a guy try and buy me a drink and back away so fast after being rejected." "We men do have to protect our egos every now and again. It's easier to just bow down than be humiliated." "I see. And is this every guy? Or just you New Orleans men?" "The way I see it you have 3 types of guys in the world." "Oh is there now?" "Yes ma'am." He says chuckling a little bit. His laugh is contagious. I love it. "Please continue." "Okay, well you have your top guys, they don't know how to take no for an answer so they keep bugging you until either they get their as* beat by someone else or thrown in jail. They make the rest of us look bad." "Interesting." "Then you have your tear 2 guys. The quiet nervous ones, who get too nervous to talk to a girl. But when they do they stumble all over their words and make as*ses out of themselves. "Hmmm. I think I'm following your logic here." He just laughs at me. "Then you have your bottom gentlemen. Who are genuinely interested in having a connection with a woman. But knows if he pushes his luck, he will be bumped up to tear 1 as*hole status. And we don't want that." He laughs again. "No because that would be bad." "HAHA yes ma'am that would be." "Well I have to say, I have a new light to look at men through now." "In other words you classed all men in the same group." I raise a skeptical eyebrow at him to which he replies with a charming smile. "I'm Jonathon." "Sam." I shake his hand that he had stretched out. "You sure do know how to make an impression, don't you?" "Only on the ones I am intrigued with." "Oh really. And why did I catch your eye?" "A beautiful woman sitting at a bar in a new city all alone.. I was curious." "How do you know I'm not here with anyone?" "That is your 3rd drink. And yet you have been sitting here all alone since you got here." "Someone had been watching." "I had to make sure your boyfriend didn't come in and beat me up if I tried talking to his girl." "Well it's your lucky day because I am currently not seeing anyone. So I think you're safe from a beat down." We both laugh together. The conversation goes smoothly. But I keep my guard up. I'm no fool. I know what to look for and I know to keep myself guarded. "So what's your story?" He asks with a glint in his eye. "What makes you think I have one?" "A woman such as yourself, taking a road trip all over the country to wind up here all alone. There has to be a story." "Observant." "I have to be in my line of work." "And what is it you do?" "Awe dodging the question. Let's make a deal. I ask you a question you answer, then I ask you a question and I answer." "Deal." "Okay so what is your story?" "My fiance..... Ex-fiance cheated on me after I told him I didn't want to rush into a wedding." "How long were you engaged?" "Not so fast mister. You first. What do you do for a living?" "Haha, I'm in the Army. Special Forces, to be exact." "Nice." "How long?" " Officially a year and 2 months." "I can see why you wanted to take it slow." "Ya well he didn't get that." The next few hours are spent talking some more. It don't matter. I wouldn't see this man again so what could it hurt? We tell each other different things about our lives. I didn't go into deep detail about the mafia stuff but enough for him to know that my life was in shambles. He in return shared some of his past. He as well was cheated on when he went on deployment. It was easy to talk to him. The conversation took at least 8 different turns. But it was mostly light-hearted and fun. "Well Sam. I had a wonderful time talking with you. But I should probably get home. You as well. You don't want to be left wondering in the streets alone at 3 in the morning." "Very true. In that case, it was a pleasure." "The pleasure was all mine." We shake hands. Holding on a bit longer than necessary. Before I know it. Our lips are meeting. "Wow." We pull apart and I see Isaac standing there in the bar staring at Jonathon and myself. "Isaac!!!"
