My name is Ally Foster. Well it used to be. Now I go by Samantha Jefferson. Sam for short. I am 25 and live in a small town in Wyoming. I would like to fill you in. But as a friend once said, somethings are better left in the past.

From what you've learned though, the past doesn't always stay in the past. Fingers crossed it doesn't come back to bite you in the ass.

Chapter 1
I pull up to work dog a** tired. I thought the nightmares had stopped for once. Unfortunately, every now and again they come back. I just have to make it through this shift. Then I can go home and hopefully sleep. I walk inside of the bar I currently work for. It's called The Redman. I'm a waitress/bartender in training. I love my job. As I walked through the front door, I head to the back office to put my purse and sweater down. Standing there for a moment with my eyes closed. "Hey Sam." "Jeez!!!!! Ian, you scared the hell out of me." I place my hand on my chest trying to calm my rapped heart beat. I knew it was him just by his voice. I turn around slapping him on his arm as he laughs at me. Ian is taller in stature, he stands about 6'3''. He has short sandy blond hair that falls slightly on his forehead. He's an average build with some muscles that are pronounced through his shirt. He's cute don't get me wrong, but I see him as a friend. "Sorry Sam. Didn't mean to scare you. You ok?" "Yeah, I'm good." "Still having those nightmares?" "Yup." I say letting a deep breath out. Ian is the only one who knows some of my past. I told him what I could and kept the rest a secret. When I first moved to this god-forsaken town, I needed a job when I ran into him at the grocery store and he told me he was hiring. He and his older brother Isaac own this bar. Ever since then, he and I have been as thick as thieves. "Anything I can help with?' "No, I just need to get my sleeping pills refilled. I just haven't had time." "Well get on it dude." "I know, I know." "Are you good to work?" "Yeah, I'm good lets go." I say nudging him a little bit. The first half of the shift was slow so I was able to get some practice in behind the bar. Around 9 it started picking up so I had to go back out on the floor. Taking drink orders, getting hit on and even having guys ask for my number is just a normal part of the job. I'm pretty used to it. Thankfully, with the gentlemen who get handsy all I have to do is look over at Steve, the bouncer. He legit looks like Batista from WWE. He is huge. He's had my back the entire time I've been here. We have a brother-sister kind of relationship. He's cool as sh*t. Tonight is no different than most, or so I thought. I get a booth full of drunken a**holes who are relentless with the corny pick up lines. One guy stands out in particular. I can't place him. I shrug off the uneasy feeling and continue doing my job. About 10:30 the booth full of guys are about to get cut off. They have had way too much to drink. They are acting like fools. Walking up to the bar I tell Ian I am going to cut them off. He's good with it. I just have to run to the back for a quick sec to use the restroom. As I am walking out of the bathroom the guy I had an uneasy feeling about is standing there in the hallway. "How are you doing?" "Can I help you?" "Oh I think you can." He says with a devilish grin. Great another one of these. I look around him to see if I have direct sight with Ian or Steve and of course I don't. The drunk creep moves closer to me grabbing hold of my arm. "Don't leave me hanging, sweaheart." "I wouldn't dream of it." I say smirking. Thank god Ian and Issac have thought up of everything to protect their servers. I slip my hand in my apron and hit a little button. That button signals Isaac, Ian, and Steve letting them know that there is a problem. "What do you think your doing?" He grabs onto my wrist hard pulling it from my apron and slamming me up against the wall. Wincing a little from my head hitting the wall I falter a little. Just then the 3 guys come up behind him. Steve grabs his shoulder shoving him away from me, making me lose balance and almost fall to the ground. Isaac is there though the grab me before I completely fall. "Is there a problem here?" Steve asks the drunken creep. "Ya, you interrupted me and my lady friend here." "I think you need a lesson how to treat a lady." Isaac says, taking a step towards the drunk. "Isaac, it's fine. Let Steve handle it." I say as I gently put my hand on his arm stopping him. He is gorgeous. He looks like Ian only a little older with more stubble and a sharper jaw line and a lot more built. He as well stands about 6'4"-6'5". They all tower over my small 5'5" self. but I don't mind. "Fine." Isaac says nodding to Steve who then hauls the guy towards the back door. "Get you f*cking hands off me." "Don't like it to much do you? Now you know what it's like to be man handled." Steve says going to smash his face into the wall quickly before tossing him out of the door. I laugh a little. Yup that's the big brother coming out in him. "I have to get back out there, Sam you take a break the others can handle it for bit." Ian says as hes walking back to the bar. I just nod my head. Steve walks past me giving me a nod. "Thanks Steve." "Anytime small fry." He chuckles while walking away and I roll my eyes. That's my nickname for the guys because I am so much shorter than them. "Come on." Isaac reaches for my hand leading me into the office. He doesn't say much he just gets me an ice pack for my head inspecting my wrist. There's a bruise already forming around my wrist. "F*cking a**hole. You should have let me beat his a**." "And what good would that have done? We would have had to close the bar down because police would be all over this place and you know it." "It would have been worth it Sam!!! He laid his hands on you!!" I flinch back a little. Isaac has only ever raised his voice at me once. It was when I first started here and a guy grabbed my ass. I didn't tell any one but Steve had seen and let him know. He yelled at me telling me that I need to report sh*t like that and not to be stupid because no guy has the right to touch me without my permission. I was going through a lot back then and when he raised his voice I flinched. He immediately felt bad and tried to get me to tell him who hurt me but for my case I couldn't say anything. I think he noticed how I flinched again because he took a step back running his hands through his hair messing it up a bit then down his face. "Sh*t Sam, I'm sorry." "It's ok." "Why won't you tell me what happened to you?" "I told you I can't." "Why?" "Isaac stop pushing. I told you I can't please just respect that." I stand up handing him back the ice pack. "I'm going to head home early if your ok with it." He simply just nods. I grab my sweater putting it on and grabbing my purse. "Steve will walk you to your car." He says walking past me. I'm assuming to go let Steve know the plan. A few hours later after tossing and turning trying to sleep I decided to jump in the shower. Standing there letting the hot water pour over my body, I think about how Isaac would react if I did tell him the truth. We don't talk much, not since the first time he yelled at me. But when we do talk he wants me to tell him. And I can't. Not till this is all over. And no telling when that will be. It's been five years, Wyoming has grown on me a bit, so I'm not sure if I would even want to go back home or not. On one hand I will finally be reunited with my friends but on the other hand there is so many bad memories there. I don't know what I will do. We will cross that bridge when it comes I guess. I get out of the shower putting on my skimpy pajama shorts with a tank top. brushing my hair is easier now since I had to cut it. It's medium length now, going just past my shoulders, with lots of layers. I decide to try and find something to watch seeing as how I can't sleep any way. I don't work for the next 2 days so I have time to get my prescription refilled later but have to wait for the pharmacy to open. For now I grab a bag of chips a light blanket and sit on the couch looking through Netflix trying to find something to watch. I finally decide on watching Vampire Diaries. I watched the first season but have been too busy to watch more of it. Until now that is. It's about 4:30a.m. when I hear a knock on my apartment door. What f*ck!!!! My anxiety kicks into high gear. I start to panick. I know better than to make any noise or turn the t.v. off so I sit there. letting the noise stay the same. Another knock. Oh my god!!! breath. "Sam, it's Detective Summers." Holy sh*t! I let out a breath I didn't know I was holding and get up off the couch and run to the door opening it. "Destective, what's wrong?" I say as he comes in shutting the door after making sure no one is around. "Is there any news?" I asked concerned. "If your wondering if they believed Scott's funeral was real they did." "Ok and?" "And I'm sorry but it's not over yet." "So what's the next steps?" "It's almost over, just keep doing what you're doing. But I do have to caution you and advise you that going back is probably not in your best interest." "So I'm here indefinetly?" "Yes. I'm sorry Sam." "Can I atleast tell my friends?" "Do you trust them?" "I do." "You know how I feel about it but I know what it's like not being able to say anything. So it's up to you. Just be careful with who you trust." "Thanks detective." He goes to reach for the front door then stops for a second. Turning halfway around he takes a deep breath. "This will be the last time we talk. At least until this is over. Take care of yourself, Sam." Then he leaves. Locking the door behind him I go back to sit on the couch. So this is officially my life. No more Sadie. No more Alex. No more Scott....... Tears stream down my face. My past is officially just that. My past. And there is nothing I can do about it. My old life is over. I guess I always expected this could happen. But now that it's here, it's hard to let go. How do I say goodbye without saying goodbye? With my mind racing and tears streaming down my face, a little later I doze off. Falling into a dreamless sleep.
