Chapter 2

1110 Words
LINSEY. Another day in which I came out alive. Another day in which I am at a party an hour after leaving the hospital. I shoot h****n. I have a problem, I know. I'm not perfect and I don't want to be either. I'm an addict, I know that too. I tried to quit, but I can't, I don't have self-control. I climb on top of a table and start dancing to the beat of the music. I know I shouldn't be here when I almost died hours ago, but I can't help it. I keep dancing until I stumble and fall on my back to the ground. - Are you OK? -I see the person who approached me. A brown-eyed brown-haired girl looks at me expectantly for an answer. - Yes, only my head hurts a little, nothing more. I get up as best I can from the ground with the help of the girl. I need more h****n. I push the girl aside and go to Mandy, my friend who provides me with all the drugs she uses, not only does she give them to me, she also uses them. She took the syringe out of her hand and injected me into my arm. She feels so good. I shoot a couple more before everything goes dark. (...) I snap my eyes open and the first thing I get is a big slap across the face. I touch my sore cheek and look at the culprit of my pain. My father, it was to be expected that it was him. - Seriously Linsey? You just got out of the hospital about ten hours ago and the first thing you do is get high. - My body, my life, with it I do what I want. My mother's crying is present and immediately my face turns to see her. I don't like to see her suffer, but I'm not going to let myself be treated like that by him or anyone else either. - You still live with me, so you're going to do what I tell you, we're not going to leave you alone for a minute, much less leave the house. She grabs mom by the shoulders and they walk out of the room leaving me with my brother. I keep seeing the door through which they just left. - You don't love me anymore? My brother's voice catches my attention. - Why do you say that Dylan? He wiped the tears from her face. - Why do you always try to kill yourself, if you do it for something I did I promise not to do it again, but please don't try to kill yourself again. Seeing him like this destroys me inside. He is everything to me, I love him more than my own life, I love him more than anything in this world. But how can I promise you something that I don't even know if I can fulfill it. - I love you Dylan and I don't like to see you suffer because of me. - Then promise me, promise me you won't do it again. Oh brother. If he could stop drugging me, I swear he would, but I lost control of my life a long time ago. - I promise you. -I smile. I cross my fingers behind me. Sorry Dylan. LOGAN. Another day alone in my mansion besides my older sister. Everything I need is in this house, I don't need friends, I don't even want to have them. I dive into the pool and start swimming. I swim, swim and just swim. I stop leaning on the shore. What is happening to me? I no longer see the fun in being alone. I leave the pool and enter the house still wet soaking the floor with water. -Haward! I call our servant. A few minutes later he comes running and when he stops he begins to pant. - Yes sir. - Get me a towel and quickly. -I order him and then he runs off again. I go to the living room and sit on the sofa. I put my feet on the center table. - Get up from there immediately. I turn to my right upon hearing my sister's unbearable voice. - Don't bother Piper. - You're getting everything wet. I roll my eyes. - Y? Then Haward cleans it up. - His name is Harold. - Haward, Harold is the same. - I can't believe you're my brother, we don't even look alike, because I'm not a bad person. I don't say anything, I just ignore her. Although deep down it affected me that he called me that again and I don't understand why. I look down at my hands seeing the place where I started scratching without realizing it. I have blood. I hurt myself unintentionally, not even realizing it. I stop doing it and look up at the TV. -Haward! My towel! - Keep it up and you'll be left alone completely. -Haward! I'm ignoring her again. Piper gives me a sneer and heads up the stairs. Haward arrives minutes later. - Finally. I take the towel from her hands. - Excuse me sir. He speaks, lowering his head sadly. I dry off and throw the towel on the floor. Haward picks it up and stands to my right. He-he Turns on the TV and puts on the tennis match. -I order him to which he immediately obeys me. Keep it up and you'll be left alone. I can't get that out of my head. Maybe Piper is right and I end up staying just for being who I am. Maybe she is right and she is a bad person. Maybe if I'm selfish. Maybe I'm a brat. Maybe it's all that and much more but that's not my ass, it's the fault of the parents who didn't want to raise me and only leave me with the servant. That I am this is not my fault, it is their fault. She's right, but so am I. I don't mind being alone. We came to this world alone and that's how we're going to leave, why make the effort for someone to come into your life just to hurt you like he did to me. I will not allow them to hurt me again, not again, even if it means staying alone all my life, it will be a risk that I plan to take. I'm not going to change for anyone and if I do, make it clear that I would do it only for myself, but since I don't want to, I won't.
