First Day at School

Mike

What just happened? What is wrong with Skylar? She just bolted into the girl's bathroom I cant really go in there. I'll just see if she turns up in class if not, I'll ask for a bathroom pass and I will check up on her. 

The bell rings ten minutes later 

Science has just started and she isn't here, something is wrong. "Sir, sorry can I have a bathroom pass?" The teacher gave me the bathroom pass and I sprint to Sky. I hate seeing her cry, there is something about her. I'm attached to her.

She is your mate, just she doesn't know what she is yet.

Ben, the wolf inside me speaks to me. Of course that makes sense, you need to see someone die before you can become a wolf, she hasn't seen anyone pass away until her 17th birthday.

"Sky? are you in here?" I yell out in the girl's bathroom, I really shouldn't be in here but I need to know what's wrong.

What is Mike doing in here? 

"Yes, can you please leave me alone" my voice shakily responds

"Did I do something?" he asks.

Why does he think he has done something wrong every time? Of course he hasn't, he didn't know my parents died, he didn't know the only people in the world that called me Sky was my family. 

"Of course not, I just. I need to go home" I took a deep breathe as I spoke to keep my voice from shaking

He knocks on my stall "Come on out, please?" I peeped the door open and he is standing there with his arms wide open. His brown eyes sparkling with gold flecks, he pulls me close and just holds me. I feel safe, warm, I feel like I finally have someone. 

He's a wolf too, I can smell it in him

He's what? I jump back out of his warm, cosy,  safe feeling hug and he freezes just staring at me. "Everything Okay?" I just nod at him, "I'm going to go home, and since I gave you a lift do you want a lift home now with me?" 

He looks at me, looks at his watch, and looks back at me with a smile on his face "My dad wouldn't be happy so can I hang at yours until 3:30? 

Crap he will have to now, I nod. He returns to class saying he's sick and I grab my bag out of my locker, grab my keys and we go home. He has a packet of cigarettes and asks if he is allowed to smoke at mine, I nod at him.

As we get home we walk out the back into the garden and sit under the tree, we didn't talk all the way home, but I just want to be close to him all the time he makes me feel so safe, I've never felt so safe in my life. He takes out a cigarette and lights it, he holds the pack towards me "Do you want one?" 

I have never smoked in my life, I nod taking one out I tell him it's my first time so he light's it for me as I draw back, it smells so gross but it doesn't taste so bad. I cough the first couple times after that I'm fine, he smiles at me. "I love your an old school girl" he says, I blush so I turn my face away taking another drag of my cigarette.

He already has you hooked, maybe we are meant to be mates?

The person we are meant to be with for life

If that's the case, I'm okay with that.

"Sky, your eyes just went purple" Mike cuts me off with my talk to Dusk "Purple?" I freak out, why were they purple

When we talk your eyes change to the colour of mine

Crap, he has to know. If he is a wolf himself, how can I get out of this 

"Must be the light, there green actually" I answer, he looks me up and down, I can tell he knows im lying but he just nods. "Want to watch a movie? I have back to the future?" he smiles and gets up, letting his hand drop to mine, to help me up. But when I get up he doesn't let go, we walk to the house hand in hand.

I have never held hands with a guy, never had a boyfriend. Never really even spoken to any guys before. I make some popcorn and turn the tv on but as I look at Mike his eyes were blue? He must be talking to his wolf. "Mike, your eyes? There blue?" he looks at me, I'm absolutely shocked, he just smiles and puts his arm around me as we watch back to the future. 

It's 3:30 time for Mike to go home, I just want to ask him about this wolf stuff, but what if Dusk is wrong what if he isn't, and what if his eyes just looked blue from the glare of the light. I must just be going crazy.
