High school was supposed to be boring. For Kairi, it was — until a mysterious app appeared on his phone overnight. No instructions. Just a glitchy message: “Welcome to the System.”

Now, Kairi can see stats floating above people’s heads, earn XP from daily life, and unlock weird quests like “Confess your crush (reward: +10 charisma)” or “Ace your exam (reward: Time Skip Card)”.

Between avoiding social embarrassment, dodging his overpowered rival with a God-tier IQ, and accidentally forming a party with the class president (who totally doesn’t like him, right?), Kairi realizes something:

This school might look normal…

But Magitopia High is anything but.

Funny, heartfelt, and a little chaotic — Magitopia is a school-life rom-com with just the right amount of system madness.

1.Welcome to the System
High school was supposed to be boring. At least, that’s what Kairi Aozora told himself every morning as he dragged his half-dead body into the fluorescent-lit halls of Magitopia High — a school that looked normal on the outside, but always felt just a bit…off. Maybe it was the way some students whispered weird stuff like “I ranked up this weekend” or “Her stats are crazy,” like they were characters in a video game instead of hormonal teenagers trying to survive math class. But Kairi? He was perfectly average. No weird powers. No god-tier intellect. Just...Kairi. He flew so far under the radar that even the school’s facial recognition cameras seemed to forget his existence. He once spent an entire class in the wrong room, and no one noticed — not even the teacher. Life was simple. Until it wasn’t. It started with a ding. Not the kind that came from classroom announcements or notifications about lunch menu changes. This one came at 3:03 AM, vibrating his cheap secondhand phone so hard it fell off his nightstand and smacked him in the face. Kairi jolted awake, blinking against the harsh glow of the screen. He groaned, wiped the drool off his cheek, and squinted. [New App Installed: SYSTEM] “Welcome, Player.” Status: Calibrating... Please do not uninstall. He stared. “…What the hell?” There was no icon, no explanation, just a glitchy black screen with pixelated white text. It flickered for a moment, then went dark. His phone returned to the home screen like nothing had happened. Weird. Probably malware. Or a dream. Kairi rolled over and went back to sleep. By morning, he forgot all about it. Well—until the moment he walked into class and saw something floating above Amaya Kisaragi’s head. [Amaya Kisaragi – Level 17 | INT: 92 | CHR: 84 | Authority Aura: Active] Kairi blinked. Then blinked again. “…What.” He turned to look at his childhood friend Mika. Above her, too: [Mika Tanaka – Level 12 | CHA: 99 | Luck: ??? | Skill: Emotional Damage Dealer] His heart thumped. Okay. He was not hallucinating. Or if he was, he was doing it in high-res, 3D, real-time rendering. Everyone around him had floating stat bars. Some were faint. Others glowed brightly, like in those trashy gacha games Mika made him play during lunch. Some even had strange skills or effects. One guy had “Debuff Aura: BO” over his head. Kairi didn’t want to know what that meant. “Are you okay?” Mika leaned in, popping her bubblegum loudly. “You look like you’ve seen a ghost. Or worse — a pop quiz.” Kairi blinked. “You… don’t see that?” “See what?” He looked around. No one else seemed alarmed. Either this was normal and he was the weird one, or— A soft chime echoed in his ears. [New Feature Unlocked!] Welcome to the System, Kairi Aozora. Starter Quest Activated: 🟢 “Confess your crush” Reward: +10 Charisma Penalty: +5 Emotional Damage “WHAT?!” Heads turned. The entire class stared at him. Amaya narrowed her eyes from the front row. “...Is there a problem, Aozora?” Kairi shrunk into his chair like a dying slug. “N-Nope.” Mika gave him a side glance. “You sure? You screamed like someone just told you your browser history got leaked.” He buried his face in his hands. “Please kill me.” The rest of the day was worse. Everywhere he went, stats. Bars. Quests. Pop-ups. It was like walking through an anime-styled version of Excel. And the System? Oh, it wasn’t quiet. It pinged every few minutes. “Avoid eye contact with Reiji Kanzaki – Reward: +1 Survival Instinct” “Don’t fail Math – Reward: Not being stupid” “Laugh at the teacher’s joke – Reward: +2 Social Standing” “Fail to laugh – Penalty: -5 Respect” He wasn’t sure what was real anymore. And then… there was Reiji Kanzaki. The school’s golden boy. Looks that belonged on a magazine, brain sharp enough to slice through exams like a hot knife through butter. The guy had a literal God-tier IQ tag over his head. Kairi made the mistake of glancing at him. The moment their eyes met, the System pinged again. ⚠️ [Rival Detected: Reiji Kanzaki] You are now part of a passive competition. Current stats comparison: INT: You = 32 | Reiji = 999 CHR: You = 12 | Reiji = 90 EXP: You = 3 | Reiji = MAX Objective: Survive. Kairi almost dropped his lunch tray. Reiji raised a single eyebrow, expression unreadable. Then he gave a polite nod — the kind that felt more like a warning. Kairi bolted. By the time school ended, Kairi had two nosebleeds, three near heart attacks, and one accidental party invite sent to Amaya (he still didn’t know how he triggered that one). He staggered out of the building like a war survivor. But the System didn’t stop. “Night Quest: Walk Amaya Kisaragi Home” Reward: +5 Trust Penalty: Social Humiliation “WHY?!” he cried into the sunset. Amaya was standing at the gate, tapping her foot. Her arms were crossed, expression frosty as ever. “You sent me a party invite this morning.” “That was a misclick! I didn’t mean to—wait, no, not a misclick—more like a system error—actually, I mean—uh—” Her eyes narrowed. “You’re weird.” “Only on Mondays,” he said weakly. “And also Tuesdays. Maybe forever.” She stared at him for an excruciating second. Then — to his shock — she let out a sigh and turned around. “Well? Walk or not?” He froze. “You’re serious?” “I live two blocks that way. You better not make me regret this.” The System chimed happily. Quest Complete: +5 Trust Bonus: Unlocked New Party Skill – Shared Buff Zone Kairi blinked. And for the first time since this madness started, he smiled a little. As the sky darkened and the stars came out, he looked up — half-expecting another pop-up. It didn’t come. Just silence. And for the first time, peace. Until Mika sent him a message. [Mika: Bro. You okay? You glitched HARD today.] He sighed. Kairi Aozora had no idea what this System was, why it chose him, or what the hell Magitopia High was hiding. But one thing was clear: His boring school life was officially over.
