Anxiety ripped through my veins and my hands quivered as I made my way to the witness box — I was no witness, I was the victim.
Turning around, I looked at James who was staring right at my r****t. He wasn’t looking at me and his eyes held something strange, they were filled with anger—but towards who?
It all happened in a few minutes. The whole court had turned upside down as I passed my r****t. The courage inside me vanished away as he stepped and tried to terrified me. Only then I realized that he was no longer chained and there was a knife in his hand.
Terror ran through my body, I felt my own heart choking my breaths. For a mere moment, I thought that this all was going to end now but gunshots ripped through the air.
