Chapter 29
“What are they doing here?” I questioned as I furrowed my eyebrows together. It was completely silent inside the court. James held my arm and took me to my seat. After settling down, he spoke.
“I have no idea,” He turned around and looked at them both who were busy on their phones.
“Why are they here?” I repeated.
“Trust me, Maria, I wish I knew.”
As the judge entered the court, we all stood up in a union. I couldn’t see the man who raped me, he wasn’t here yet. Did he back off from getting public humiliation? Or did he have another plan to ruin me?
“All rise, this court is now in session, her honor Judge Samantha Stuart.” The court clerk said.
“You may be seated. Are all parties present here?” The woman asked as she sat down.
