(Helena's POV) "Anyway, we're going, Emma.. Helena. Take care of yourselves." CI Robinson nodded at us while Detective Greene looked at the two boys who are still glaring at each other. "We will inform you by the time we get a lead on who did this." And they walked towards the police car across the street. "We're going too, Helena. Mrs. Blackthorn..." Michael said and pulled Julian along with him. "Let's go. I'm sure grandpa is already searching for the two of us." "Are you okay, sweetie? I know you're tired... You should be sleeping." My mum looked at me worriedly when our 'visitors' left our small home. "I'm fine." I lied. I'm not okay. I'm damn tired. F*cking tired. "It's a good thing that you already have good friends and a boyfriend who can protect you against whoever that psycho killer is." My mum tried to cheer me up but it made me worry even more. What is it with Julian and trouble? And why can't my mum see the f*cking truth?! "Mum, he is not-" My sentence is cut short when somebody knocked... or rather banged at the door. Both of us stared at the wooden door. "Let me open the door sweetie, just get some rest." My mum kissed my forehead and went for the door. I was about to ascend on the stairs but I heard people shouting at the door and calling me so I went to see what is happening. "Stop it! She needs to rest! She'd been through a lot! You know my daughter can never do that, Sally! Please go away! my baby is innocent!" I hear my mother screaming at the top of her lungs. Then I saw the people. Lots of them... Mostly adults and some are my schoolmates at Jacksonville High. All of them are wearing cold expressions which was directed to me. "There she is! The reason why our children were killed!" I recognized Nathan Trent's mum shouting hysterically while his dad is trying to comfort her. His face is also red as if he had been crying the whole day. "You murderer!" Anna Kent's aunt tried to grab my hair but my mum got in between us. "Emma! Step aside and don't hide your b***h of a daughter from us!" A woman whom I recognized as a gossiper raised her almost nonexistent eyebrow at my mother. "My daughter did not want any of that to happen! She's innocent!" My mum tried to defend me but I know that it is hopeless. These people's minds are closed and they will never listen to any reason. They will never believe that someone wants to ruin me by doing all of this things. "Liar! Who would just kill our children without remorse? Only that freak that you call your daughter. Just turn her over to us and we will bring justice for our dead children." "Besides, more children may die because of her if we don't do any actions." Mr Osborne, the local butcher who had always smiled and greeted me good morning when I was younger looked at me now as if I'm a wild animal who needs to be killed immediately. I want to get angry at them. i want to shout that I am not a killer. That I am innocent and I also fear that one day, the killer will also kill me and my mum but my tongue felt numb. I was tongue tied as I watched the people accuse me bad things that I will never commit in thousand years. I want to leave but I can't move. Finally, the numbness was gone and I burst into tears as I ran towards my room. Some hours later... "I'm so sorry, mum. But nothing good will happen if I stay here at Jacksonville." I kissed my mother's forehead while she slept soundly on her bed. I don't want to leave her but I know she will never be safe if I stay here. She may also die and I will never forgive myself if she gets hurt because of me. I left a short letter for her on the drawer and picked up my parent's wedding picture. "I'm sorry if i'm leaving too but this is necessary for both of us..." I don't know where I am going but that doesn't matter anymore. I exited her room and went back to mine to get my suitcase and money. I am wearing a black silk jacket with hoodie, skinny jeans and converse. It's not my usual style of clothing but if I want to get out of here undiscovered, I have to dress up like everybody else. "Goodbye... mum." I whispered as I jumped out of my bedroom window and ran to the dark night. (Someone's POV) I'd been watching over Helena's house from across the street when I noticed a small figure running away from my beloved Helena's house and I frowned. Are these people really that hopelessly pathetic that they will even sneak into her house late at night. Only I alone have the right to do that! I walked towards the small apartment slowly and expertly climbed her bedroom window which was located at the back part of the house. I frowned when I did not see her in bed. She's not on the bathroom either. I went out of her room to see if she just went out for a glass of water. I checked the kitchen. Nothing. She's not even on her mother's f*****g bedroom! A nagging suspicion gnawed my insides as I raced to her room again. f**k! DOUBLE f**k! She just ran away from me. Just ran away from me right under my nose. I want to scream out in frustration. I want to kill somebody but I calmed myself. I will not ruin my good mood just because my little kitten is afraid. I love a good chase anyway and I am sure that I will immensely enjoy this one. I decided not to kill her stupid mother. I may use her to get my Helena obey me someday anyway. Oh Helena... You may run... But you can't hide. I will catch you... And when that happens, you will terribly be sorry that you tried to run. I will make sure of that.
