When they reached Rain’s room, it was a lot smaller than Richard expected it to be. There were two beds in the room, so Richard asked Rain who his roommate was.
“I’ve been alone for the past few weeks. Michelle’s time was up, and she moved out last month.”
“Your roomie was a woman?”
“Yeah, I was very upfront about my sexuality when I moved in here. I had enough to deal with; the last thing I needed was some dude thinking I was giving him the eye and getting bent about it. Women are more comfortable with that sort of thing, and Michelle was a gem among gems. I’m glad I had the chance to meet her.”
“Do you know where she moved to?”
“I do. In fact, I helped her move.”
“You should keep in touch.”
“I may do that in a few months,” Rain said.
