Arranged Marriage that turns into LOVE

"What? Marriage is fixed!" only words come out of her mouth.  

She was in a tremendous shock to hear these words from her mom. Recovering from what she just heard she asked her mom without even breathing "how come this happened? she agreed?"

Rabnoor still in shock. she continued "I mean did anyone asked for her opinion or her approval?"

" Yes, she agreed. And why are you thinking that her mom will not ask for her opinion. She is her only girl child." mom told me.

" I know that mom but she is still so young. I mean she has not completed her studies n moreover she is just turning 20 this year." I told her frowning.

" I know beta (Beta is an endearment used for child ) but we have no say in this. Its her mother and her elder brother's decision. And we have to support them in this decision as you know her father, your uncle is no more with us. So they are thinking to complete their responsibility as soon as possible to send her off to her actual home that is to her in laws house after marrying her to your future brother in law." mom explained. And then said " Come fast Noor Beta, your aunt called and invited us for dinner over their place."

"Okay mom, I am on my way back home, going toward station right now." I told her and disconnected the call. 

While walking towards metro station Noor processed all the information that was just provided by her mom. 

Flash back

Few years back Rabnoor's father n Uncle (Father's brother) suffered huge loss in their business as their business partner betrayed them and by cheating he took over their business leaving nothing with them. 

Rabnoor father started doing job as an accountant in a company but her uncle tried his hand in some other business but failed miserably. Before this loss thing both families were leading a very luxurious life but now their situation is totally different.

After an year or so, Rabnoor's family situation was little stabled because of her father's job but her Uncle's situation only worsened. they were facing lots of financial problems and that started affecting his health. 

Her uncle could not take such big shock of loss n started feeling depressed as he still couldn't able to stabilize his family financial conditions. 

And this depression of his took him away and he died. 

After him, Rabnoor's aunt and their two children were having lots of problem. Their son Hardeep who was 19 years old quit his studies to support his family. Their daughter Ishpreet was 16 years at that time and she was few months younger to Rabnoor. Ishpreet continued her studies. with lots of struggle they got stabled after one year. 

End of Flashback 

Thinking about this she decided to call her cousin Ishpreet. She grabbed her phone from her bag and called her, "Hi Preet (Preet is short name for Ishpreet), how are you?" Noor said plainly.

"Hi Noor, I am Good. How r u sister?" Preet asked.

"I am fine too. Hey I got to know .." before she could complete her words Preet said "Ya I said yes for marriage". 

Sensing that she replied so calmly as if nothing happened Noor blasted "What! You agreed for this marriage. Are you out of your mind, look at yourself. I mean you are so young and besides you have not completed your studies yet and  what if they not let to complete your studies... " Rabnoor was again cut off by Ishpreet by saying "Noor Noor Noor, Calm down girl, at-least take a breathe between your speech". She tried to calm her down.  

Ishpreet continued, " You know about our family condition, right? Bhai (Bhai is used for brother) is trying utmost to support our family. Mom and Bhai wanted to complete their responsibility by marrying me off to a good guy."

"My in laws are good people, they are so humble and kind. They understands our condition completely and insisted us for a simple wedding so as to not burden us"

"Even I met with guy also, he is very kind, sweet and sensible and he even assured me that they will let me continue my studies and he will support with continuing my job too so that I can remain independent." Preet tried to reason her.

After listening to her cousin and understanding her point of view Noor sighed with relief and said "Oh God, you know how much worried I was for you. And after listening to your words I am much relieved".

"Thank God you are now relieved Noor or else you keep on asking me about your concerns. Though I am glad that you are so generous towards me." she declared.  

" So are you coming to our place for Dinner tonight " Preet asked hoping Noor will also join them for small celebration organised by her (Bhai) brothrer.

"Yes we are coming, I am on my way to home. Will see you soon. Bye" Noor said.

" Ok then see you." Preet said and Noor disconnected the call.
