15. Announcement of Leader
“So I decided that Rabnoor will be doing this assignment on behalf of Admin Department.”
My breath hitched when his words landed on my ears.
I trembled internally and almost fell from my chair hearing his words.
I was not only shocked, rather beyond shock.
‘What?’
‘Me???’
My mouth was hung open on hearing his words.
‘This is such a grand event, how will I do this alone.??’
‘I can assist Satya Sir or any other senior, but handling such big event on my own is not possible for me.’
‘I should deny this right now.’
‘Yes, I should voice out my thoughts to Mr Thakur.’
Mustering up my courage, I somehow composed myself to say but failed miserably, “But Sir, I…”
“Rabnoooor”
I was cut off by Mr.Thakur as he called my name to prevent me to speak anything.
I stopped immediately what I was about to say and looked in his eyes.
He nodded his head and gestured me with blinking his eyes and putting his hand on his chest as saying ‘trust me’.
I know this is not the right place to show my disagreement with the seniors so I should better keep my mouth shut for the time being.
As I got what he is trying to say to me so, I responded him by giving a small nod.
I don’t know what comes in my mind that I felt an urge to look towards Sid.
Then following my urges, I glanced in Sid’s direction. My eyes go wide on the sight in front of me.
Guess what??
He was smirking on me.
‘What the hell with him.’
‘I don’t know what his problem is.??’
‘Jerk’
I cursed him mentally.
I raised my eyebrow on him and shoot him rage-filled glare exhaling a long breath.
I discontinued our gaze-fight and move my eyes again towards Mr. Thakur’s direction.
He looked towards Mr. CEO and spoke, “Sir, Rabnoor is the best person of my department and she has all the experience that Sid needs for this App-Launch Event. I have full confidence on her. And I assure you that she can handle this whole event and she will never let us down.”
On hearing this, my heart filled with delight. I could not believe on what my ears just heard.
‘I can't believe Mr. Thakur said he have full confidence on me.’
‘Oh my God’
‘This is such a big statement from him.’
‘The trust they have shown in me today, I don’t believe in myself either.’
My eyes sparkled with happy tears with this delightful feeling but I didn’t permit them to fall from my eyes.
Everyone was now looking in my direction and they all were smiling.
I was on cloud nine.
When all turned their gaze back to Mr. Malhotra, so it was my turn to give a smirk to that i***t.
And I don’t want to let pass this chance.
He was also looking towards me frowning.
I wiggled my brows playfully and smirked to him.
‘Did you hear what Mr. Thakur just said? He said that I have all the experience that you need for this App-Launch Event.’ I thought raising my eyebrows to him. I want to say it out aloud but I can’t right now.
‘Do you have any idea what does this mean?’
‘This means that I will be guiding you and you have to follow me. And then I will see how arrogant and jerk you are’
I thought this all to myself, doing happy dance in my mind.
‘Oh….This is going to be FUN.’
I rubbed my palm while thinking and giggled lightly not to be noticed by anyone.
Leaving Sid’s aside, I looked towards Mr.Malhotra who was also looking towards me. He must be thinking or I can say analyzing something in his mind. He must be deciding whether to give this chance to me or not. He was smiling faintly.
I noticed, slowly his faint smile turned into a big grin and he said, “Its decided then, Rabnoor and Sid, both will be doing this assignment.
And I hope this App –Launch event will be a huge success for our company and for both Sid and Rabnoor too.”
He continued looking to Sid, “This event will launch Sid in our business world” and then looked to me and said, “And will provide many benefits to Rabnoor’s Career as well.”
“The App-Launch will be on 20 June, which is exactly two months from now. So get going you two. Best of luck to both of you.” Mr. Malhotra informed us about the date of App-Launch and wished us good luck.
All clapped together and cheered for us.
‘What…??’

‘Oh no’
‘Why all this happen with me every time?’
‘Preet’s wedding is also on same date.’

‘Now how will I manage two big events of my life on same date?’
‘Oh God, Why me always??’
‘I am all screwed up now’
“So, I will see you guys soon.” Mr. Malhotra said and stood from his chair. We all got up too from our seats.
Finally the meeting came to an end.
He ushered towards me, smiling. I turned towards him as he reached near me.
“Rabnoor, I want you to be a guiding spirit for Sid and I wish you both will make up a great team.” Mr. Malhotra said to me and offered his hand for a handshake.
And I smiled brightly before happily accepting his hand for the handshake.
“I want you to meet me in my office post lunch.” He said to me. As he said these words I frowned a little anticipating ‘why he wants me to meet in his office?’
Seeing my confused state, he leaned closer to my ear and whispered lowly in my ear, so that no one can hear him except me.
He said, “I want to discuss something about this stubborn head.”
Hearing this, my eyes go wide in surprise.
‘Huh???’
‘Did Mr. CEO just call him (Sid) a stubborn head?’
‘Nice…. I liked it’
‘Great minds think alike!’
He straightened his posture while adjusting his blazer and winked at me.
I gave him a smile pressing my lips tightly to suppress my laughter.
“Yes Sir, I will be there post lunch.” I said and nodded my head.
He also gave a firm nod before taking a leave from us.
Soon Sid also ushered to leave the meeting room biding his byes to Mr. Thakur and Satya Sir.
He was about to leave but he stopped in front of me and turned toward me.
‘Not again’
