A Handsome Stranger

**Veronica** I slammed the door shut in a rage. How dare Tatiana dare me? Was she not afraid about what she'd done? Wait a minute, what gives her this much confidence? Why is she not a fraud that I was going to report her to my dad? Something is wrong somewhere. But even when I know, I just can't contain myself. He's my dad, and I'm sure he'll believe what I say." Just as I marched towards my father's quarters? I suddenly noticed footsteps behind me. I turned around only to see Tatiana dressed in her nightwear and Lawrence wearing his shorts and a white shirt. “Why are you coming after me, huh? Young think I'll not be able to tell the Alpha about your betrayal?!” I turned around and hastened my steps, so Tatiana wouldn't catch up to me, just in case she's trying to pull any strings. Just as I arrived at my father's door, I quickly knocked on his door at once, while looking behind me to see Tatiana and Lawrence walking towards me at the speed of light. Presently, I couldn't help but pray deep in my heart for my dad to open the door. And just as I had thought, the door opened way before Tatiana could get close to the door. My dad creased his brow, and I didn't need anyone to tell me that I had just woken him up from sleep. Shit! When he finally opened his eyes fully, he seemed shocked when he laid eyes on me. “Veronica? What are you doing out here in the middle of the night?” “Dad, I-” Tatiana suddenly burst into tears the moment she came in front of my dad. Interrupting me from what I was about to say. “Sweetheart, why are you also here? What's going on?” “Love, you should ask your daughter why she hates me this much. She came to my room in the middle of the night to accuse me of something I didn't do.” “What?!” My jaw dropped at that very moment. I was totally not expecting what I had just heard her say. How could she lie with her eyes wide open? I looked behind me where Lawrence stood with his head in a bow. “Veronica, what is this madness? Hold on a minute, did you actually do this by bringing your boyfriend into your mess?” My dad asked with a raised voice. I have never seen him this mad at me before. In fact, I was totally at a loss for words to speak at the moment. “Dad, do not listen to her lies and pretense. You don't know what she did!” “What did she do? So why don't you start by telling me what my innocent Luna did, that you'd go to her room just to make her feel bad for marrying your father?” “Dad, that's not true. She and my-” I paused that very instant. What exactly am I supposed to say? That I caught my boyfriend with his Luna? Knowing my dad, he'll surely not believe me. “What is going on?” I looked behind me only to see Tatiana smirking and Lawrence looking at the floor. Tears stung my eyes at that very moment. I bit my lip so hard that it began to bleed. I took my gaze back to my dad and shut my eyes. “Dad, Tatiana is not faithful to you. She's having an affair!” I screamed out, opening my eyes only to see my dad, watching me wide-eyed. “What did you just say?” “My love, you see what I'm saying? She hates me!” “Liar! You were cheating on my dad with my-” I didn't get to finish my statement before I was slapped hard on the face. I held my burning cheeks in shock and quickly turned around to face my dad, who was staring at me with a hateful gaze. My dad has never slapped me before. “How dare you say such barbaric words against my wife! Where is your evidence?” My father demanded in anger. I staggered backwards, knowing I had no evidence to even defend my claim. This is why no one should act on impulse. “You're a disgrace and I regret ever having you as my daughter!” The word resounded in my head over and over again. I felt like I had been drenched in cold water. “If you're going to be like this, then it's better I send you off for marriage. You've finally become a nuisance!” “That's a good idea, love. You should marry her off now,” Tatiana stated, resting her head on my father's chest. I can't take it anymore. I need to get out of here before I go mad. I quickly turned on my heels and ran out of the pack house with tears in my eyes. I need to go somewhere to cool my aching head and I don't care where. ** A few hours later** “What! Lawrence did that to you with that b***h?!” The big blue eyes of Daisy became even wider after I explained everything to her. “Daisy, can we not talk about my problem anymore? I just need something to forget everything that's happened to me.” “My goodness, Veronica. I don't think there's anything you'll take now that can help the situation you're in.” “I don't care about anything any more, Daisy. I'm willing to take the strongest alcohol. You've been a bartender for years now. I'm sure you know something that could knock me out.” “What? You need somehow to knock you out?” "What else? That's the only solution right now, Day. My heart is burning blue flames. I don't think I can take it at this rate. “No, I think the best thing for you to do now is to get back at the tramp. Doesn't she have a brother? You know she's not respected in the pack she comes from. If possible, get yourself hooked with the Alpha king himself if you want. He's her brother, isn't he?” “What? The king? You want to pair me with some crappy old man. I'm sure all of them are as crappy as she is. I hate to associate myself with whoever is on her side.” “Hmm, if that's the case, what do you want to do? How about a handsome guy just like that one sitting over there?” I followed the direction of Daisy's hand, which was pointing to a guy in a wine-colored suit. At that point, my heart stopped. What in the world! “Who's he?” I couldn't help but ask at that moment. “I don't know him personally, but I know he comes here every weekend. His handsomeness is to die for, but you'll be shocked to know that, despite how handsome he is, he has never taken a lady home.” “Huh?” I muttered. “Wanna try?” Daisy asked.
