Chapter TenThere was enough wood to keep Amethyst warm for the night. She heated her hand and touched one of the logs, which burn nicely. Sitting down, Amethyst wondered if everyone was safe and whether Hui-Ying was a person she should trust. The thought of her being evil was not new as she was tricked by Eris. “Why does everyone have plans for causing harm or doing something bad?” she shook her head then looked at the egg. She grabbed it and realized the size was enormous. Most eggs would fit in her hand, but this one was as large as her head. As the sunlight faded behind the mountains, she cracked the hard shell, and an awful odor escaped, which made her want to gag. “Yuck,” she said as she held her nose. “If this makes me sick or doesn’t work, I’m going to need to get that pearl back
