Chapter Thirty-Six
Carl’s phone rang.
‘DI West.’
‘Operations, Inspector. There’s been an attempted break in at Dr Bryant’s house.’
God, thought Carl, Mitchell’s found her.
‘Is she okay?’ said Carl.
‘He ran when her alarm went off. We’ve got patrols searching the area and there’s someone with the doctor.’
‘I’m on my way,’ said Carl.
Carl slipped his phone into his pocket and picked up his coat. ‘Harry!’
‘What’s up, Boss?’
‘Get your coat. Someone’s set off the alarm at Dr Bryant’s. Probably Mitchell.’
‘Is she safe?’ said Harry.
‘Yes,’ said Carl. ‘Uniform are searching the area.’
‘Let’s hope they find him.’
‘Come on, let’s have a word with her and see what happened.’
