2 - Jesse; Your Wolf

2311 Words
Error’s POV (4 years later) “Hello, Error” someone said in my head as I jumped at the intrusion, scowling internally at the voice. “My name is Daniel” I seethed, trying to figure out who was talking to me. I'm surprised, nobody except Grandma Nelly ever mind linked me, and I’ve never heard this voice around the pack before, not that anyone ever talks to me. It’s more like I’ve never heard this voice yell at me before. “Sorry, I’m going by what name you were given when you were born” He answered, as the voice grew louder in my mind. I didn’t know a mind link could do that. “It’s not a mind link.” “My fuckwit father called me that. Grandma Nelly said my name should have been Daniel and called me Danny” I shouted at the voice, not knowing what was going on. “Who are you?” “I’m Jesse; your wolf” he said matter of factually as I saw a brown wolf walk forward to the forefront of my mind. "Would you like me to call you Danny too?” “Slave; you are meant to be doing the saucepans” Omega Josie spat, hitting me wa dirty saucepan. I didn’t know I had stopped cleaning as she hit. Jesse growled in my head; “You are an alpha, not a slave” “Tell that to my father” I yelled, cutting him off. “What are you doing?” “I’m trying to shift, why can’t we shift?” Jesse asked as I struggled in my head with the wolf because he couldn’t take over my body. “I have silver shackles around my ankles and wrists”, I told him, as though he should have known the answer. I know you when you have silver shackles on, it stops you from being a wolf. “Why do you have silver shackles on your ankles and wrists?” he asked, sitting down in my mind. “Are these 50 questions? You heard Omega Josie; I am a slave”, I answered, annoyed at the rundown of my miserable life. I didn’t ask for this and if Grandma Nelly hadn’t died, I wouldn’t be here cleaning the dishes. “I am lost. Why is the Alpha’s son a slave? You have done nothing wrong...” “Because my father thinks I killed my mother, after complications with my birth,” I yelled, cutting his question off. “Right! Nope! You are not a slave”, he said, shaking his head as though it was one gigantic practical joke being played on him. “Oh, goddess, Josie, you are going to spoil the food by letting him in the kitchen”, Todd said, coming through the doors as I groaned and picked up another saucepan, placing it in the sink. “I need someone to wash the grease off the pans” she answered, leaning on the bench and smiling back at my brother as though he was a goddess’ gift to the world. “You heard her, why aren’t you washing the grease off the pans?” Todd spat, rubbing grease on a rag from the oven and putting it over the saucepans I just cleaned. “f**k off, Todd” I snarled, taking the dishcloth and cleaning the grease he had just wiped on the saucepans. “How dare you?” he yelled, grabbing my hair and yanking it to the ground, my whole head and body going with it. “Let go of me” I screamed, struggling against Todd’s grasp as he kicked me in the ribs. “Toddy”, Anastasia called, coming through the doors and I noticed Jesse sitting up in my mind. “f**k” Todd murmured, letting go of my hair and running in the other direction towards the side door. “How often does your brother hit you?” Jesse asked as I narrowed my eyes at him, struggling to take in the breath that was just kicked out of me. "What day is it?" I answered sarcastically, pushing myself upright and picking up the dishcloth to continue cleaning. “Whenever he gets a chance to”, I added with a sigh. “Where did Todd go, Josie?” Anastasia asked, looking around the kitchen. Of all the she-wolves Todd has in his arms, the Gamma’s daughter is obsessed with my brother. I don’t blame him for running, I hate her too. “I haven’t seen him” she answered, an innocent look crossing her face. I hate her, but I hate my brother more; “He went that way”, I smirked, pointing to the opposite doorway. Josie scowled at me, hitting me with another saucepan. “Eww; the slave spoke to me” Anastasia screamed, kicking me as she ran out the other door. “Is there anyone around here that doesn’t think you killed Luna Rachael?” Jesse questioned as I shrugged my shoulders. “In the packhouse, only Beta Simon” I informed him as he let off a small growl. “Why doesn’t Beta Simon help you esca...” “Because dad ordered him not to. If he is found helping me, the punishment is instant death. I answered, cutting him off again. For a wolf, he doesn’t know much about what happens with them. "He sneaks me food and water from time to time, when he can or remembers.” Jesse lets out a long sigh: “You are not alone now, Danny. We will work out a way to get out of here”, he said, trying to encourage me. There is only one way out and when I figure out a way, I have to kill myself. “You are stronger than that, Danny. We will find another way...” “There is no other way” I shouted as Jesse mentally pushed himself against me. “I’m glad you’re here” I murmured as he gave me a smile and I continued to do the saucepans. ………. 2 years later “Wake up, you little prick. There’s something Ana needs to do to you before the ceremony this evening”, Todd screamed, kicking my legs as I rolled over, trying to ignore him. “Whatever it is, I don’t give a s**t about it” I murmured as he picked me up by what little hair I had on my head. “I have asked her to be my Luna” he said as I rolled my eyes. It won’t last, he doesn’t like Anastasia. He thinks I don’t see anything that happens around here. In fact, I see everything. That’s what happens when people ignore me, unless they need someone to hit. “Well, good for her" I said, giving him the same smirk he was giving me. "Did you tell Stephanie or Joanna?” “You fuckhead” he yelled, punching me in the stomach before throwing me back to the ground. “It’s OK Toddy; I knew about those w****s. I will be your true Luna” she cooed, smiling at Todd as though the sun shone out of his ass. “Well get on with it, then” he seethed as Anastasia wriggled and stood up straight. She looked at me with a sinister glance; “I, Anastasia Colleen Derwood…” “Wait; are you rejecting me?” I asked, not understanding why she would reject someone who isn’t her mate. “Jesse, why is she rejecting someone who isn’t her mate?” “Sorry Danny, I tried to keep it concealed; so, she didn’t hurt you” he said, releasing a mental barricade in my mind. I sniffed her scent of blueberry and maple, sending tingles down my spine. My face lowered with disappointment. “No” I whispered. Not her; anyone but her. “Can I continue the rejection?” She yelled, before continuing; “I, Anastasia Colleen Derwood; hereby reject Error Molchany as my mate”, she called out as the pain hit me like a ton of bricks. I bite the inside of my cheek to stop myself from screaming because I’m not going to let this b***h get the best of me. Ignoring the pain, I stood up to tower over her. Although my body is thin and pale, I am still a foot and a half taller than she was. “I, Error Molchany, accept your rejection and hereby reject Anastasia Colleen Derwood as my mate”, I repeated back to her. We both fell to the floor, with Anastasia screaming as the mate bond snapped and withered away. I sat back up; “You’re done; now leave me alone”, I shouted at the two of them. Todd kicked me again and picked Anastasia up off the ground, before walking off. I waited for them to be out of eyesight and pulled out a stale piece of bread from under the floorboard; “Silver shackles or not; I’m leaving here tonight”, I told Jesse as he sat up in my mind. “We will become a rouge; just you and me. Maybe there is a second chance mate out there for us?” he responds, trying to lift my spirits. If there is one, she wouldn’t want a thin, beat-up man, like myself. “I don’t want a mate anyway; they will just hurt me like everyone else”, I told him as I put the last of the stale bread in my mouth. I hope Beta Simon gives me some more food. I’m going to need my strength to do what I want to do tonight. “You aren’t talking about killing yourself again, are you?” he asked, nudging me in my mind again. He does that when he wants to stop me from thinking about committing suicide. “Why not? I have nothing to live for now” I answered as he let out a sigh. Having a mate was the only thing stopping me from doing it. Tonight’s the night. It’s time to give them my last farewell. “I will be right by your side and we will do this together” Jesse said, nudging me again. “You”, a gruff voice called, stopping my conversation with Jesse and away from my thoughts. “What do you want?” I seethe at my mother’s sperm donor. He punched me across my face; “Have respect for your Alpha”, James yelled as I spat the blood from my mouth at his feet, causing him to punch me in the stomach. “You will clean the tables and floors in the dining hall for the ceremony tonight. If I see one ounce of dirt, you will pay” he yelled, releasing the chains from the shackles on my legs and throwing the bucket and scrubbing brush at my feet. “Get moving” he continued; dragging me out of the corner and into the dining hall. I fill up the bucket with cold soapy water and place my throbbing hands and wrists into it, until the pain subsides a little. I knelt down on my hands and knees to start scrubbing. “We aren’t going to have that smell in here for the ceremony; are we?” Anastasia laughed as she and Todd walked into the dining hall. “I don’t want to turn people off their food, babe. Don’t worry about him”, Todd chuckled, as they came over to where I was standing. “Someone needs to show him how to bathe” she giggled, picking up the bucket of soapy water and putting it over my head. “Nope; still stinks” she continued, laughing as I stood up from my spot to glare at them. “Todd, Ana; Alpha James is looking for you” Beta Simon said, coming into the dining hall with a scowl on his face. He waited for the pair to leave and handed me a plate of dried biscuits. “Here, have something to eat” he said as I took the plate from him, as he watched me nibble at one of the biscuits before putting the rest into a makeshift pocket I had in my pants. I let out a sigh, picked up the empty bucket and filled it with more soapy water to start scrubbing the floors again. As I finish, Todd walked into the dining hall again. “I can’t have you wrecking the celebration”, he said, grabbing my arm as I yanked it away from him. I don’t want to be here, anyway. He grabbed my arm again, pushing his claws into my skin. “I would have you whipped, but it will make a mess in here.” He dragged me to my corner and chained me back up before walking away. What? No punch or kick? I take the rest of the biscuits out of my makeshift pocket and place them under the floorboards. “What if we shift? You said it was too dangerous for us, that would kill me”, I said to Jesse as he shook his head at me. “I said I am with you, but I won’t do it for you” he answered. I let out a breath, not knowing what I would do. I can’t shift, chained in a corner anyway. I spin my legs around, placing them closer to the side of the wall and the chains fall around my ankles. What the hell? The moron; forgot to lock them properly. I smirked; “We’ll be out of here as soon as the ceremony begins.”
